Widemouth Manor je vřelá přátelská hospoda / hotel s výhledem na písečnou zátoku, která je proslulá surfováním. Hned u dálnice A39, přístup do Devonu a Cornwallu nemůže být lepší.

Our Stay in Cornwall
We are staying in this hotel in a fantastic location with views to die for.The staff and food are amazing with a different buffet most nights great value for your money good range of drinks available at reasonable prices.Rooms are comfortable and well equipped and again reasonable we are here for 3 nights from Wed 10th June until check out Sat 13th June.Would definately stay here again 10/10

Sort out the Chef
Been eating here for years before new management, and the carvery was always good. Stayed here 30th May 2026. Good service, nice clean tidy room with a lovely view. Shower had black mould, (just buy mould spray),and shower door was damaged unable to open close. Side lamp was broken exposing electrical wiring very dangerous. Chinese buffet was terrible , ive never eaten such bad fried rice... how can a chef manage to have greasy looking but hard fried rice at same time and the flavour was awful enough for me to spit it out. Crispy duck looked like brown slodge , sweet and sour dish was also terrible not good flavour and not enjoyable. Prawn tempura and dumpings were the only decent thing. We paid for a breakfast buffet and went down to eat about 9.30 am , the beans looked as if they were sat there for 24hrs, and i dont understand why or how a chef could not fry eggs ,they looked disgusting (check photos). Cereal didnt even look like it was worth it so we didnt even attempt eating breakfast but instead asked for a refund on the breakfast whch was kindly honoured.

Never again
Where do I start, first and last time going here. Me and the wife went for my birthday 19 to the 21st of June. We arrive yesterday (19th) about 4.30pm to have me standing in the from reception for 10 mins after a 7h drive waiting for someone to greet me and give me my key so we can have a shower get changed and chill out..
After we finally got sorted and went back downstairs the drinks available at the bar was pretty bad. But thats a small thing. Anyway onto day 2 being today 20th June. We was awoken this morning around 8am with a screaming fire alarm the whole building was going off as somebody burnt toast down in the restaurant. Its lucky we wasn't dyslexia or anything and actually took the time to read the fire warning printed on the back of our door becuase as we left the building there was nobody in sight yet again. We had no clue what was going on or anything....shocking to say the least.
Anyway after that issue came breakfast wow what a disaster that was. 15 pounds for that is disgusting very little to choose from and extremely bland in flavour total let down.
We decided to go out for the day and have a look around the area. We looked in some advice sheets in the room. Basic information and stuff where it states of you would like your room to be freshly made up please leave the label on the outside door handle of your room before 11.30am we didn't even have a label in our room so we thought nothing more and went out. We came back about 5pm to find our room had been as they put it freshly done. Luckily we took our valuables and cash with us and only left clothes and medication in the room as my wife is disabled. Our clothes had been moved the bed remade and our stuff moved about the room. Which is not what we asked for.
I went on the search for the manager and found the deputy manager I told him what happened and what it says in the company policy to which he said he only started in April and has no idea what the policy was. He went to get the general manager...wow what a discussion that was. Some arrogant man turned up with a bad attitude I explained to what happened and he turned around and said we went in to make the beds and clean the room. And its all hotel policy they do this...when I told him I have started at hotels before and this has never happened its not how it works at all and I'm not happy about random people going In my room messing about with my clothes and doing whatever they feel like. Its not acceptable at all.
His reply was I thought you would appreciate it being done. I said would he like it if I went to his house now and did it to his house. His reply is so what are we going to do about it with his puffed up chest trying to stand tall
I told him we are leaving he said fine. They don't care about this at all and I am going to take it further as high as I possibly can I'm looking for the owners name email phone number anything I can find I want. Its disgusting to allow this to happen and its not hotel practice either. Ill never go back here or recommend it to anyone I'm only giving it 1 star because I can't give lower

Take care of your customers else they may not make the trip again.
The dining space by the buffet desperately needs sound dampening. It’s impossible to hold a quiet conversation or indeed at times any conversation at all.
The young blonde waitress that dines with the boss has an attitude better suited to being a police woman who’s angry at the world because she’ll never make detective.
She simply spent two hours bullying people out of their plates in the hopes of getting an early night. That flies in the face of an all you can eat buffet. Given the reasonable cost of the food, it would be advisable to allow people to relax, take their time and double or triple the take at the bar. As it was, everyone had been bullied out of the door by 8pm.
The Eastern European waitress was fantastic. Didn’t have to do anything more than ask if we were enjoying our dinner and collect empties, but the difference was night and day. She made us feel like she genuinely cared, which goes a long way.
The business model (mass produced, quality and affordable with limited scope) is simple and genius but it will quickly fall on it’s backside if the favoured staff and ego driven management continue to alienate the customers. This is a place that’s a journey out of the way from Bude, not on a highstreet in a large town or city. If you alienate your customers, you could offer to pay them to come and they simply will not.
I really want to support the business model but find it impossible to be enthusiastic about the prospect. We will try it again but the only thing we can do differently is choose somewhere different to sit. The rest of course is down to those that want to have a business and a job.
As you may be able to tell, despite the laminated offer of a drink in return for a favourable review, I chose honesty over nonsense that helps no-one.
If you are visiting over summer and don’t rate manners or being left in peace, you will love the break from from extortionate prices.
If you live here and are looking for a refreshing way of doing things, you will likely leave with a full belly but wishing the staff could bring themselves to push it over the line before it becomes another episode of Restaurants of Bude Past.

Sort your drinks menu out!!
This always was my go to place when I had friends to visit. What on earth are the new owners doing to this place? Went with friends a couple of weeks ago, only one beer on draught and no chardonnay wine. Went a couple of days ago, only one beer on draught, "sold out of chardonnay" (on a Friday evening!!!) . We purchased a bottle of wine which turned out to be 10.5% and was pricey. Come on, sort out your drinks!!
By the time we left there was a massive queue going out of the door for some buffet. Looked absolutely horrendous. This once lovely bar/restaurant is really rapidly going down the pan.
