A pleasant stay

A very pleasant stay was had by my husband and myself. Location was perfect, food was great and friendly polite staff. Our room was a bit on the small side with a view of the car park but nonetheless it was clean and a quiet room.

Friendly, clean , good food.

Return visit, warm & friendly staff who are happy to help, lovely clean room.

This is a neat hotel on the seafront with free limited public parking behind the property.
The room rate for a Sat night in Aug was high considering no breakfast was included. I have stayed before but only because it is convenient to out friends who we visit annually.
The hotel is quite small with modern decor. The dining area is tight and shares the bar. There is a nice conservatory type seating area in the front.
The rooms and especially the beds are small but clean. The usage of plastic disposable cups in the bathroom is cheap and doesn't aspire to the price of the room but not a big thing.
Overall, it is a nice hotel with friendly staff but over priced.

Nice little hotel by the sea

Fabulous location by the sea,10 minute bus ride from Southend Central station. Prearranged early check in went without a hitch,and my small double with seaview was perfect for just me. I was on the 1st floor and there isn't a lift. Stunning views,clean,lovely bed and well equipped room/shower. Room was uncomfortably warm as there's no air con (already aware of this just underestimated how bad it would be),just a small fan and open windows. Tv was pointless,signal was atrocious and could only get a couple of channels. Didn't sleep well at all due to heat. Only had breakfast and was sadly disappointed. Not many cereals to choose from and there were no croissants or pastries. Cooked breakfast was ok but tomatoes were so watery they made everything else soggy and there were no beans. Had to ask for more tea and toast and the waitress seemed very overrun. Staff were great,very friendly and welcoming,especially Abbie who helped me sort a cab back to the station earlier than planned due to a family issue. I would absolutely return as it's a lovely little hotel in a great spot but maybe not during a heatwave.

Birthday treat.

My husband and I had a really lovely overnight stay at the Camelia. This was a treat for my birthday, we had a standard room which was very comfortable. The weather was great, so we had drinks on the terrace, then a delicious meal in the restaurant. The staff are wonderful, so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was a delight, the following morning, then sadly we had to check out, but being situated right by the beach we had a long walk and made the most of another glorious day. Thank you Camelia Hotel for looking after us so well, we look forward to staying again in the near future.
