Tento přestavěný tudorovský dům, obklopený krásnými kopci South Downs, je odlehlý vysokými stromy a nabízí krásné zahrady. Hotel na okraji West Chiltingtonu, okouzlující vesnice, která se pyšní 3 vinicemi, kde se vyrábí oceněné víno.

Excellent Place to Stay.
Just back from a lovely stay at this hotel. Staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. We had a very peaceful and comfortable 3 days of relaxation. The continental breakfast was excellent, the restaurant in the evening was the perfect finish to the day.

Keep going round the roundabout ,head somewhere else .
We rang the hotel to tell them we would be late checking in. The receptionist told me that if we checked in after 10 pm there would be a fine of twenty pound and if we did not arrive before eleven pm there would not be a room for us, with no refund.
As we had already paid roughly £160 we thought this really odd, we have stayed in hotels all over the country but have never come across these rules before.
We left the function we were at and arrived to check in at five o clock, and then returned to the function .
We were given a room called damask rose. The receptionist said “ go round the corner past the motorbike and it’s just opposite the rear kitchen door.”
It certainly was opposite the kitchen door also boxes, a big blue empty drum, bins and flies.
There was also the constant drone of an extractor unit plus associated smells.
I asked for another room and was told the only one remaining was on the top floor of the main building .
It most certainly was, it was in the eaves, with a sloping ceiling that even ourselves who are on the short side banged our heads on.There were two fans in the stiflingly hot small room one of which had to have the cable twisted to actually work .
The batteries for the remote on the tv had run out I gave them to the receptionist and was told they would be replaced.
Surprise surprise they were not .
The breakfast was ok but that was the only thing I could recommend ,the staff didn’t seem to like working there either,they were all dressed in black which certainly suited their apparent mood .
When we read the Welcome Pack we noticed numerous mistakes eg Reginald Fairfax .
was referred to as a sculpture instead of sculptor, the rounabout hotel instead of roundabout, and that in 1029 he was winning distinctive awards.
A truly memorable stay , this hotel was recommended by the venue of a wedding that we were attending. I shall be writing to tell them of our experience.
We would have been more comfortable sleeping in our car,and nearly £160 richer

This quirky old inn has lovely bones and great potential to be excellent, but it needs a little bit of a makeover. Rooms are clean and perfectly well-appointed, but dated.
The shared areas are really nicely designed - pretty and cosy snug room for the winter, and a super fireplace in one of the 3 dining sections, plus several indoor and outdoor areas well-suited to warm weather. The outside space is large and the garden could be beautiful, but there are several forgotten pots and planters which could do with some lovely plants in them, as could the garden, which has nice established plants, but need some colour.
Service was friendly, but staff seemed quite stretched. Food was decent, though I would have liked two eggs with my breakfast. The continental selection is perfectly good.
The one issue I did have was with the wines. We asked to try a wine and were told that they do not offer tastings. I would have happily paid to try a wine, but in the end we had no fewer than five different wines by the glass, and they were all really dreadful. They were also very cheap, and I would happily have paid more for better wine. We did wonder if perhaps they had been left out in the hot weather – as it seems unlikely that someone would choose so many bad wines to offer by the glass!
All in all, the hotel is nicely situated, in a beautiful area, and it is perfectly good for the price. It would be lovely to see it refurbished, however.

Everything at the hotel except for a little bit of dust and cobwebs which let it down, I’m sure it was just overlooked on the day,the staff were very friendly and helpful, the position of the hotel was great in easy reach of everywhere, great place to explore the area. Would definitely come again
