A lovely place to stay near Stratford Upon Avon.

Spent 2 nights here - 19th & 20th July. A lovely quiet place to stay. Clean and comfortable room. The landlord and landlady were friendly and welcoming as were all the staff. A 5 minute walk to the railway station with direct links to Stratford Upon Avon town and Birmingham Bull Ring shopping centre. The evening meals were very tasty with large portions.
Would definitely stay here again.

Good pub but very poor room refurb and breakfast

Our group booked 7 rooms and I was with my wife. First problem was accessing our room (no. 7) as the key in the door would not turn for me or the next 3 people who tried. It was eventually accessed through a window and given to a later couple who could not lock the door. We were then allocated room 1. Once I stumbled through the door as did'nt notice the drop after the door (no warning) we discovered a cavernous room with a 4 poster bed, 1 chair, no table and a large bathroom. Could not make the brand new shower work and when enquired was advised of a hidden button on the side to press. Worked great then but the flow exceeded the drainage so could not spent long there.
Breakfast next day for 12 of us was in a dingy room, coffee machines and half the toaster didnt work, tea was offered in a packet with no teapot and a packet of bread was put on the counter along with a choice of 3 cereals.
There were other issues but basically accommodation was a mess - at least the bed was comfortable.

What a downturn!!!!!!

New managers trying hard to fit in but walking around with bare feet is not what we want to see from a barmaid. smoking spliffs outside the back door was unpleasant to see and smell- is this legal at only the mary arden now?

Friendly and lively village venue.

It’s now an excellent place to pop in for a drink or a good value pub lunch or dinner.
I popped in on Christmas Day morning and it was full of everyone having a great time with family and friends, really cheered me up. It’s close to lots of footpaths which is great for walkers. Real asset to our community especially with the new tenants.

A nice surprise nowadays

Haven't been to this pub for many years. We were pleasantly surprised to find a genuine pub serving a nice range of lunch time food at very reasonable prices. Also, good selection of beers . Staff were very friendly and attentive. The ones today obviously knew their job. Worth noting it is very close to Wilcote Railway Station which might help avoid driving. Worth noting that Henley Starion pub is not too far if you fancy combining the two great venues
