Excellent location and great ambiance on the terrace overlooking the river. The room was very good with a view of the river and the staff friendly and helpful.

So disappointing

Went for lunch today. We have been here several times over the years and it has got so much worse over the last 6 months. Staff need more training they seem a little clueless when asked questions.
When the food came it was very disappointing. The baguette was one of those supermarket pre baked ones. No butter. Tiny bit of mustard mayo. No care taken. Tasteless. The chips served in cardboard takeaway cartons although nice and hot were tasteless also.
It’s a great spot. Such a shame that the standards of food quality have diminished. Maybe due to all the extra tables they have now.
We won’t be back.

Not the experience we hoped unfortunately

We have recently stayed at The Diglis Hotel. We decided to come away a day early as our dog and ourselves were too hot. However; I would not recommend staying at the hotel.
It was our decision to come back early. But the room was promised to be dog friendly. The room had no windows, we could not get any air into the room at all in the night. Obviously, with a dog this is extremely important. The temperature in the room was unbearable, we could not open the patio doors and as the river path was in front of us and we did not feel safe to do so . There also signs to inform us to keep the doors locked. The two fans were not sufficient in this weather. This lead to no sleep last night for all three of us. Our dog was even gasping for air at times with no air flow or ventilation.
Also, we had a meal on the Monday night. Unfortunately, this was not as good as we expected. The fish and chips were oily and the Sticky Toffee Pudding was like rubber. This would have cost £80!
The breakfast also was sub par. The eggs were hard and the muffin was wet and not toasted. Our dog did enjoy her breakfast though.
Please do not take your dog to this hotel in the summer and even in the winter.
I was not satisfied with the way this complaint was dealt with by the hotel. They felt it was necessary to just say” Should you find yourself in a position to return to Diglis House in the future, ” We shall not return.
It is a shame as the hotel had potential to be very good. The location is ideal and so close to the river and town.

a good one night stopover

good to be back, new owners as we understand, but this has not taken away from the level of service or quality, a great one night stay again

Go for the pizza !!

Outstanding food especially the pizza. This is the 5th time we have visited in a month. Well done guys !! professional service with great food.
