The room was clean and complete.
Coffee was just instant coffee.
They have a self check-in system for you to check-in and checkout. however, my key didnd't work. had to go back down and do manual checkin.

Scammy night manager

The night manager was very unhelpful, and is running some kind of a scam. That Im convinced she personally pockets without the hotel’s knowledge. We booked a 3 person room, 2 adults 1 child. We arrived after a tiring long trip to find our room had just one double bed, upon asking we were told TripAdvisor did not specify the age of child and we should be happy with child in our bed. No we booked a three person room and expected beds for three people, she then said give me another $80 a night and you can have a camp bed set up. This is scummy scammy practices that only seemed to happen cause we are a white family, she bent over backwards to help Chinese guests. I do not recommend this hotel if you want helpful staff. Plus the room faucet did not work i reported this and it was never fixed during our entire stay. AVOID

Great hotel and great location

I stayed here overnight before taking a train. The location was great and easy to get to from the airport on the airport train. I recommend using Museum station, not central for a quicker walk. Check in was very quick, and I don't like the self checkin, so a staff member assisted me (without having to ask). Luckily my room was ready early and located on the highest floor. The lifts were quick and the room was larger than expected and felt very clean. Most importantly as it is winter, it was warm.
I have no complaints here, and would happily stay here again.

Comfortable stay and helpful staff

First and foremost:
The staff including Rebecca are all helpful and amazing.
Despite this I raise some matters for improvement.
Pros:
Central location
10 minutes from awesome vegan eatery in Surry Hills “Shift Eatery”
Spacious shower good hot water flow
Quiet room
Full tv channels including SBS Chill radio
Streamline check in and check out
Cons:
The bedside powerpoint is hidden low behind the bed in an impractical location and only discovered upon departure
The bar had no zero alcohol beer and no attempt was made to indicate they could get some
The in room menu states a 21:00 cut off for room service and what is unstated is that in fact ordering finishes at 20:30.
At the check in kiosk if you pay with your physical credit card then your pin is needed. If you pay with your phone or other device then no pin is required (this may be unique to each financial institution)
Being a former hospitality worker and chef I know how important helpful feedback can be.
I will stay here again.
It is the old Travelodge hotel with a rebranding.
Four stars.

Great 2nd stay

We stayed at the Ibis styles Sydney central back in 2025, we had a great stay then and as soon as we arrived home, we booked to return in 2026! After a long flight from the UK, upon arrival, we were given a free upgrade, something that we very much appreciated. Just like our previous visit, we found our room to be very comfortable and we had no problem resting after exploring Sydney by day. Just like the first time we stayed here, we found the hotel to be situated in a great neighbourhood. We really enjoyed the surrounding area, plenty options in the evening for food and drinks. Next time we are visiting Sydney, we’ll be sure to return!
