Great place.

From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank the restaurant "U Fontana" in Minsk for the excellent organization of the memorial lunch. We were asked to host the event in a big cabin and at first we had no idea what it would look like. In the end, it was the perfect solution: the large, cozy wooden cabin created a very warm, calm and private atmosphere that was perfect for such an event.
The table was perfectly served, everything looked very nice and neat. All the food was delicious, the meals were served on time, everything was organized to a high standard. It was also a pleasant surprise to be able to plug in your musical accompaniment. There is a TV in the room - we did not know about this in advance, we could prepare and show photo slides.
In general we would like to sincerely recommend this restaurant. Everything went just fine, thanks to the care and organization.
A special huge thank you to Victoria and Olga for their help in organizing the event and advice in choosing dishes. Thank you for your sensitivity, support and professionalism.

Place to blacklist

Location, hotels are good. The very center. Lots of beautiful establishments. And that's it! Scoop Inn, restaurant/ go back to the 90s. But, prices are at the center of newfangled. Breakfast, coffee instant, but coffee machine has, cream, good thing not dry). Draniki chemical, sausage "homemade" is liver. For lunch, paste carbonara-fried lard, milk and flour(this is sauce). A serving of eggplant 6 pieces!!!!! Salads are terrible mayonnaise and cheap ham, cheese and eggs. Classics of the USSR. If you want to extend your arrival time in the gazebo or sing karaoke. Mind you, you'll have to pay the restaurant director. That's what the receptionist and the waiter told us. A year ago, it's free. But now she's a new boss, and she takes the money for everything. But they didn't pay a check for those services. All in the korman. And that's 100 rubles for every hour. I think a lot of guests will confirm. These rules. My friends were new, nothing's changed, but you can't write a review everywhere. T.C. bad ones are removed. And they poison cockroaches when guests eat and live in a hotel. Where's the san station looking, tax office? Taking money in your pocket? And pay no taxes!!!! The kitchen is terrible. Better not go.

A ruined evening

We, the company vacationed in Minsk. Walking around the city noticed a hotel, with a barbecue area. Of course we were interested in the downtown hotel, the mangal, the gazebos. We're in. We were met by a waitress. We all noticed something was wrong with her. Behavior is strange. But, they ordered. It was all done quickly. With this waitress came another strange woman., in the same condition. When they started serving us, we realized we were not served by sober people. They laughed, they ran. I'd even say I've been climbing alone with guests. The smell of them was pronounced alcohol ,eyes glass . We had a terrible evening.The mood was soured.Naturally, no tips were left.On the part of the waitresses afterwards, all interest in us was lost.The place itself was quite decent but who lets such hall workers out?Unclear the management position, total lack of attention to their waiters and hall staff.Their appearance and sanity.phrases they throw in front of customers, and how can you let drunken waitresses work? We didn't understand what it was or where we even got to. Terrible evening! Where are the management looking? It is not possible to advise this institution.

Below average

I usually stay at hostels, but as a part of the deal to get a visa to Belarus, I had to let my agency book a hotel from a (limited) list of hotels for me. U Fontana turned out to be the best combination of price and acceptable reviews. I did, however, end up rather disappointed. First, none of the staff spoke a word English. This is rather common among the average Belarusian, but you expect the staff at a hotel to at least master basic vocabulary. They seemed helpful and friendly though, but because of he language barrier I didn't talk much with them. My second encounter with the staff was later the day I arrived. I hadn't slept much on the night bus from Rīga, and decided to sleep a few hours before heading out. Naturally I put up the "do not disturb" sign, though this did not prevent them from banging on my door later! At this point I had overslept, so it didn't ruin my day, but "do not disturb" usually means just that, do not disturb! Maybe this encounter scared them, as my room was only cleaned once during my entire six-night stay there... Maybe there are some hotel customs I'm not familiar with due to always staying in hostels, maybe I was supposed to tell them I wanted my room cleaned, but from my limited time in hotels, I'm used to this happening automatically. Their breakfast was rather boring, but okay. I only tried macaroni with a few side dishes, as "macaroni" was the only Russian word I understood from the waitress. They have free parking, which I suppose is good if you come by car, but if you come by foot, prepare to walk. The city center is at least 40 minutes away! Pretty much the only positive thing I can say about this place, is that if you like nightlife, there is a nightclub literally down the street. All in all, I'd recommend travellers to find a cheaper hotel/hostel closer to the city center, or find an agency that let's you choose where you want to stay yourself (ie. not BelarusTourService...)
