Fantastic

Absolutely wonderful hotel with great rooms and public areas. The bathroom was very good ( which was unexpected!) and staff helpful and friendly. Good prices for food and beverages. The boat trip around the lake was fabulous and added a lovely experience. It’s in such a good location for Abu Simbel as I highly recommend. It was a privilege to be able to visit

Lovely hotel in picturesque location

Based upon photos we had seen prior to our arrival, our expectations were not that high so it was a delightful surprise to be given a room in a brand new wing based upon Nubian design with super views of the lake. Room has tea and coffee facilities, air conditioning, fan, refrigerator and balcony and chairs with lake view. Good wifi. Excellent shower with hot water so the room more than meets all basic needs. The owners really should be charging a supplement for these new rooms. As it stands they offer amazing value.
Breakfast is a set meal with fresh omelette, bread, cheese, and jam with tea/coffee and juice. Also has dinner here similarly good. It was a set menu with choice of fish, chicken, or vegetables.
We spent time on the balcony after returning from the temple which had a surprising range of bird life.
Location is around 20 minutes walk from Abu Simbel Temple. We were pleased to have stayed here overnight rather than face two long journeys in the day back to Aswan.

Lovely lakeside stay with genuinely helpful staff

We only stayed one night in Abu Simbel, but this hotel was a delightful place to stay. The location right on the lake edge is beautiful and very peaceful, especially around sunset and in the evening.
The staff were fantastic — very welcoming and incredibly patient with our bombardment of questions when we arrived, helping us organise everything we needed in a short amount of time. Their help made our short stay much easier and more enjoyable.
A great choice if you’re staying overnight to visit Abu Simbel.

Tourist trap

Really pushing the limits of simplicity when the food is bad and wrapped in plastic, and more expensive than in a quality local restaurant. Simple rooms and similar service.
The location does not compensate for everything!

Lovely, distinctive lodge

Lovely, distinctive lodge on the banks of the Nile. Fab location for Abu Simbel temples,. But beautiful spot in its own right, on the banks of the Nile with wonderful sunsets, birdlife, atmosphere. Also, great food, extremely friendly staff. Loved it.
