An exquisite luxury hotel ❤️
This hotel is pure heaven! Everything was perfect—from the exquisite interior and spacious rooms to the outstanding service. I only wish we had been able to stay for a whole week. But we're already planning our next trip and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.
The breakfast, the room service, the location, and the peaceful atmosphere all make it feel like a sanctuary.

Warmth and Luxury
We were extremely fortunate to have found Hotel des Quinconces. The two days and nights we stayed were the most pleasurable hotel experience we've ever had. The building and decor are beautiful. Modern and clean design has been incorporated, while leaving the warmth and structure of the original Bordelaise home built in 1834. The location is excellent with the city tram junction at Place des Quinconces a brief walk from the hotel.
There are so many thoughtful features in the room design; lots of useful storage and closet space, plenty of handy surfaces to lay your things, an automatic light at your feet as you step to or from the bathroom, and more.
The bathroom is enormous. There are two sinks in the long counter, a free-standing bathtub, and a shower space measuring about 5 by 8 feet.
The best feature of the Hotel is the staff. Never have we felt so welcomed and appreciated as we did by Alice, Axel, Layla, Matti, Felix, and Mathilde. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure our every need was anticipated and met. For example, we came back from a day-long wine tour of Saint-Émilion to find wine glasses and an opener waiting in our room.
The experience was so good, we are thinking of planning a longer visit to Bordeaux just to stay at Hotel des Quinconces again!

You must try this surprising gift of a hotel
This hotel was idyllic. We have traveled to amazing places and have been fortunate to stay in many 5-star locations. We rarely will try a boutique hotel but we are so very glad we did. The fact that it was once the US Consulate during WWII made the intrigue too great. The elegant beauty of the rooms, the extremely helpful staff, and hanging out with the owner over a glass of fabulous wine made this stay one of the highlights of our wine touring trip. I have to also add that we tried to get into a Michelin 2-star restaurant and Raphael pulled strings and got us into Mason Nuvelle. I will tell everybody how this culinary experience was better than French Laundry in Napa! thank you Raphael

Be careful when reserving here!
We made a reservation for 2 nights at this hotel for late August, but the day before I was taken ill and we had to return to London where I had emergency surgery. We notified the hotel the day before we were to arrive; I had hoped they would let us cancel but they did not. Most hotels only charge you for the first night if you need to cancel fur such an emergency.
I had hoped they would understand the circumstances but they have charged us for both nights - over 1000 Euros total, in spite of this being a medical emergency.
We hope to come to Bordeaux next summer but we won't be staying at this establishment! A little compassion and charging only for the first night would have gone a long way. Or even a future credit?

What a pleasent stay for a week in Bordeaux
We stayed for 7 nights and everything was as expected, and we expected quality all over.
What we like to add: the staff was very nice. smiling, humourous and helpfulness all over. And the first time, in our travelling around the world, that the owner himself (who was the most charming and enthusiastic) helped us with the luggage to our taxi when leaving.
