I recommend

I usually stay at this hotel when I am passing through Bordeaux.
The staff is very welcoming, which is greatly appreciated.
Special mention to Baptiste who goes above and beyond to put guests in the best conditions.

Good Rooms and Staff, but Let Down by Service Consistency and Facilities

We stayed at an Ibis Bordeaux Hotel which is set on a commercial estate, so the immediate surroundings are mostly other hotels and business units rather than shops, restaurants, or any real local atmosphere.
On arrival, the staff were excellent — very welcoming, accommodating, and helpful, with Bart the manager standing out for his professionalism and courtesy. He explained that the bar would be open from 11am to 11pm, which gave a good first impression of service and availability.
Disliked · However, during his absence for a few days, service became noticeably inconsistent. On one afternoon, the bar was closed at around 3pm, and when questioned we were told it would not open until 4pm. The explanation given was simply “I don’t know, it just is,” which was disappointing given the clear information we had been given on arrival. We were also told there were staffing issues, with no one available to consistently run the bar and the restaurant only opening later in the day.
The rooms themselves were clean and quite spacious, but the air conditioning did not work properly. As a result, we had to sleep with the window slightly open, which unfortunately led to mosquitoes being in the room all night and made for a very uncomfortable sleep.
There was also no lunch service or alternative snack options available during the day, meaning we had to leave the hotel and go to McDonald’s to get something to eat, which wasn’t ideal or expected.

Terrible hotel

We knew it was a dog-friendly hotel. But that you get bitten by fleas and that the whole hotel smells like wet dog I thought was terrible

Everything you need, clean tidy and not a bad location with the tram nearby. Staff were excellent and everything went smoothly. We were given access to the secure car park upon arrival which made taking our luggage to our room much easier.
