Great Boutique hotel in an excellent location
Great boutique hotel in s central location near tram & metro stops. Ideal base for exploring Marseille. Friendly & helpful staff. Really enjoyed our stay. Our room was a little dark but as we had selected a mobility friendly room & this is an older property this was understood & didn’t detract from the enjoyment of our stay.

A DISSAPOINTMENT
We spent two nights at the Le Ryad Hotel. Frankly speaking, we were quite disappointed with the establishment.
The place is basically worn down, messy, in poor shape, and appears shabby. It’s a tired hotel in dire need of a major makeover.
On the hotel’s website, this poor state is described as “charming”, which is an overstatement. The photos on the hotel’s website do not reflect the reality and certainly not the maintenance level. We tend to believe that the photos have been exposed either to Photoshop or AI manipulation.
The front desk and restaurant staff of young men are informal, helpful, and friendly, but one is left with the impression that they haven’t undergone any professional hospitality training. They do their best, but the guest experience leaves plenty of room for improvement.
The breakfast is excellent and comes in three sizes: Small, Medium and Large (7, 9, 14€). After check-in, we ordered breakfast for both days. However, on the second morning, there was no breakfast ready for us.
Apparently, the front desk staff can only manage daily breakfast orders – they cannot receive breakfast orders for two consecutive days. It’s one day at a time. In addition, on the day of our departure, breakfast was cancelled for all guests due to rain the previous day. “Due to rain the previous day!!!!” We still wonder how the weather can prevent serving breakfast?
Sadly, our expectations were not met. The lack of cleanliness and the state of the hotel merely reflect a hostel.

The staff helped me with my luggage up and down the stairs. I loved the balcony where I spent hours in the morning. Very quiet and refreshing. The bedding is very good. Air conditioning worked fine.
The location I found was very good, 10 minute walk to the old port in a straight line.

Overall, we had a good stay and received a very warm welcome from the staff; however, the entire establishment is not very well maintained, which is a shame for such a beautiful place with potential.

Room at the back of the garden, very quiet
Room 1 Majorelle is located at the back of the courtyard. In duplex. Not a sound!! and beautiful view of the garden. Comfortable bedding. Small drawback, there is no storage space. The neighborhood is not very inviting, shops nearby, but once you arrive at the hotel, you feel good.

Nous sommes ravis que vous ayez apprécié le calme absolu de notre arrière-cour, le confort de notre literie ainsi que la vue sur le jardin. C’est vrai que dès que l'on passe le porche de l'hôtel, on pénètre dans une petite bulle de sérénité coupée de l'effervescence du quartier !
