An oasis of calm in the French countryside

On a cycling tour of Sarthe, we stayed in 7 different Logis, hotels, chambre d'hotes, and B&Bs. Our reception and welcome by Philip and Julie was the warmest and most heartening of all of our visits. The website gives clear instructions on how to reach this really remote spot - a quiet haven of calm in the French countryside. We realise that it is not too remote if you are travelling by car (not too far from the A28) and would make an excellent stop if travelling onwards, either north or south. The room was spacious and had all necessary facilities. It was spotlessly clean. Because we were cycling, it was clearly impractical for us to go out for the evening meal, and Julie served an excellent three course meal with a generous glass of good wine (Butternut squash soup; coq au vin; tarte tatin). In view of the rain the next day they kindly provided us with towels to dry off the bikes before restarting our journey. All in all I would recommend this location to any traveller - by car, motor bike, or bicycle (velo).

Perfect.

After a long day cycling from Rouen, we were delighted to arrive. Julie and Philip made us feel instantly welcome and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. They promptly treated a minor injury and prepared a fantastic dinner.
Our room was immaculate, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast delicious. Julie's kindness extended to cooking me a special pasta dish before we continued our journey.
Our stay was far too short, but we are incredibly grateful for the warm hospitality. Thank you again!

Do not miss this gem

Philip and Julie were absolutely wonderful hosts.
We did not stop for very long as it was just a single night along a cycling trip but they did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
Dinner and breakfast were delicious.
I would highly recommend the place. You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely beautiful

This guest room offered by this very friendly couple is a haven of peace. Located in the countryside in a very small hamlet, it is tastefully furnished in a rustic country style. Very wooded property, a green setting. Wonderful!!!

WELCOME OVERNIGHT!

Travelling from the Dieppe Ferry we were several hours late (extreme rain and car breakdown) but were welcomed by Philip & Julie, complete with a 3 course meal, with wine. The house is well appointed and spotless, with quality bed linen (and mattress overlay) - supremely comfortable. A continental breakfast with options included fresh croissants, goats' cheese, fresh bread and a choice of freshly brewed coffee or infusions. Additional "extras" (evening meal & local tax) were payable by card.
Faultless and so peacefully quiet.
