Although the alternative eating arrangements were perfectly acceptable, we missed the excellent French restaurant experience that many hotels in France provide.

Exceptional!

Fantastic stay at the Hotel de la Tonnellerie!
The breakfast is plentiful, varied, and served in a warm atmosphere, ideal for starting the day well. The pool is surrounded by a beautiful, well-maintained garden, perfect for relaxation.
The entrance and the lounge are particularly welcoming, with a piano and games for the children, creating a friendly atmosphere for the whole family.
The owners are absolutely lovely. Their kindness, availability, and assistance contribute to making the stay even more enjoyable. A Reiki session can also be organized upon request, a nice touch for those seeking a moment of serenity.
The rooms are impeccably clean, quiet, and offer a lovely view of the garden.
A must-visit place that we recommend without hesitation and where we will return with great pleasure!

Plus but also negatives

We stayed there for 1 night...
The garden is super nice, the pool clean and pleasant.
On the terrace you can relax.
But what was a minus for us;
The food and the place you eat.
They don't cook there themselves. So the menu consists of starters and main courses that are prepared and heated up in a jar and brought to the table. Even if you offer this, we thought this could be better. We ate inside (it looked like a shower was coming) and the room is really sadly dressed. No candle, no table coverings, no background music...and then they bring the jars with the ready-made food, put a deep plate with it and hop; tasty. No this is not cozy and good food.
We also found the breakfast quite meagre.
The room was comfortable but blazing hot with just a small fan.
So...for us: good and not so good experience

Fine place to stay near Beaugency

This was our first stop after leaving Orléans, on our cycling trip of the Loire River valley. We chose Beaugency so as not to have to cycle all the way to Blois on our first day. We were well received by Elizabeth in the beautiful site and building. The garden is large and well-kept. We were at the end of the swimming season so could not enjoy the pool. Our room was large with lots of light. The breakfast was generous and delicious. We cycled into Beaugency a few times, it's about 2 km and a safe ride. We found the bed softer than what we're used to but otherwise everything was fine. We really enjoyed our stay and do not hesitate to recommend la Tonnellerie.

A charming hotel

Away from the tourist hustle and bustle of the Loire castles, Tavers is home to an old 3-star hotel with charm. Situated in a quiet environment on the Loire, you sleep excellently. The bathroom was lavishly renovated. Overall it was very clean. The food is based on refined preserves and is very tasty. The wines are selected. Breakfast is also good, the croissants taste delicious with the homemade jams and cakes from the region. The garden is very well maintained and worth seeing in itself. Highly recommended.
