Mentally unstable staff named Bayu ruined the whole stay.
The receptionist named Bayu was extremely grumpy, rude and dismissive. Not only could he not answer where the loud sound was coming from, he told me to ‘deal with the manager myself’. And I still don’t know who the manager is… they seem to hire a bunch of random workers that have never worked in hospitality, but what takes the cherry on the cake is the constant cussing out in Bahasa from Bayu, thinking I don’t understand while saying all kinds of awful things to me.
It did not stop there, Bayu continued to ‘berate’ me in Bahasa whenever he would see me over the course of the next few days and at one point I felt so unsafe I decided to leave. Bayu is aggressive and god knows what he is capable of if he can cuss me out in Bahasa openly for so long.
The sound isolation was also HORRIBLE, you can hear everything through the walls and I didn’t get any shut-eye due to how terrible it is.
Photos attached below for reference on how the ‘staff’ speaks to you, ‘move rooms already now I don’t care about you’, also mold :) if you’re looking for a nightmare stay I urge you to ‘go to cove the cave and do so now’.
The only bright spot was the cleaning staff Wayan, who was extremely kind and warm from the get-go and the reason why I stayed despite Bayu’s horrible behavior, Wayan deserves the manager spot if there even is any, he is professional, kind, gentle and the ONLY person who fit the hospitality standard one would normally expect in Bali.
Overall, RUDEST staff I’ve ever encountered in 40 countries of traveling, Bayu is just insane and clearly mentally unstable and Cove the Cave doesn’t have a functional management systems at all, fits the reputation of the slum it is in!
