A Fantastic Warm Welcome!

A Warm Fantastic Welcome by the hotel owners Mr & Mrs Gavaghan & staff (Connie, Erin & co).
I brought a large group to the hotel for three days (two nights) taking part in a charity cycle in aid of a male suicide prevention centre.
We were not only fed well but the owners went over and beyond. Mr Gavaghan actually joined us on the charity cycle leading the group out each morning on his bicycle.
In the evening the hotel in honour of our achievement put on some live music - a good local 2 piece band.
The music finished before midnight to respect all guests.
I’m sorry that the last reviewer, Matthew, misinterpreted the expression of happiness that the cyclists displayed but after a tough cycle in aid of a very worthy cause the group were happy having achieved a magnificent goal.
I dispute Matthew’s exaggerated complaint, the owner did not put on a rowdy private party for friends but hosted an evening of music for weary cyclists & all hotel guests.
We had a fantastic time at the Riverside, we’re not rowdy, and suggest Matthew avoids Ireland if he doesn’t like music & the craic.

Good location, was rather loud until 2 am, talking in corridor, slamming doors so not sure if that is the norm or not. Only there 1 night.

The staff and location were wonderful! Couldn’t have asked for a better balance of experience for cost.

I’ve never been woken up by the sound of a disco in a hotel before. But I was last night. I think the hotel should either be a hotel or disco dance hall.
The room could have done with a shower cap and a couple of bottles of water in the room.
Parking was away from the hotel. Not easy for a 70 year old woman.
Staff were lovely.

Our second stay in the Riverside was very good. The staff were helpful & friendly, & check in/out was speedy. Breakfast was excellent, as was our room & shower. Unfortunately our evening meal was disappointing as there was a very poor selection of fish, only fish & chips on the menu. However we had a most enjoyable stay, & would recommend The Riverside to anyone who wishes to visit Sligo.
