Lovely apartment close to water-bus stop and attractions yet peaceful
When booking, make sure you look at the photo of the map attached to the apartment you are booking and view it properly on Google Maps. The apartments are not located in the same place. We did this and used the Hostaria Galileo to get close cos it was not possible to find the address given to us on Google Maps. Had no problems finding it. Only getting in cos we used the wrong keypad to put in the code.;) There were two side-by-side.
Yes, the little alley looks dodgy but it was totally safe. It’s like this in Italy. Once inside the front door, you do have to climb up to the 3rd floor, at least for our apartment. No elevator, so do consider this.
Once you get through the apartment door, the rooms and bathrooms are beautiful, well-appointed and spacious. Very comfortable and quiet.
The living room is in old Italian-style which some may find uninviting. The kitchen allows you to prepare basic meals. It’s not that well-equipped and had low quality pots but you could do simple food preparation if necessary.
The hotel provided coffee (Nespresso machine), tea, Italian toast and jams, replenished daily. The Italian toast is like rusk and is a crispy biscuit. It’s very common to be provided these with apartment rentals. For non-Italians, it’s better to go get something from the supermarket. A huge Despar supermarket is 3 minutes walk away.
However, with the cafes and restaurants surrounding us, we only used the kitchen to make tea and coffee. You could easily do a takeaway too.
Rooms are serviced daily. Bins were emptied but towels not changed in keeping with eco-friendly policies. I guess like in hotels, if you wish to have them changed, put them on the floor.
The location is absolutely great. You can walk to all major sights and for those further away, buy a transport pass to ride the water buses. To get from the Sant’Angolo stop to the apartment, you have to go over one bridge.
I would stay here again! Thumbs up!
