Charming and well located hotel

The hotel was very clean. Clean and quiet room.

Highly recommended

We're in the three-star area here! So down with the demands and then be positively surprised... The hotel is located in a former Augustinian monastery. This means: very large common areas, small rooms. At the reception you will be greeted funny and competent. Everything is very clean and well maintained. Free luggage storage before and after your stay is no problem. The rooms are compact, also very clean and offer everything that larger houses sometimes lack: Key card, fridge, air conditioning, TV. The view of the courtyard is - as mostly in Venice - rustic, but you are to sleep in the room and not to linger. The lift is rather retired, but runs without any problems with a maximum of four people.
The buffet breakfast is, as everywhere in Italy, kept very simple but tasty. Two types of bread, three types of sausage/meat, one type of cheese. The coffee is good too. The breakfast room is comfortable to sit in and also pleasantly quiet. Maybe the roommates are a little ashamed when they stuff their buffet bags?
While there is a seating area and a drinks menu for some kind of bar, we never saw anyone there. Maybe that would have gone through reception, but we didn't question that. So rather bring a bottle of water externally for the night thirst.
Absolutely trumps the location of the hotel in a side street barely 10 minutes walk from St. Mark's Square.
All in all: should it take us to Venice again, we will gladly live there again.

Stay 3 nights

An intimate yet very clean hotel, ideally located right in the city center. The buffet breakfast offers a limited selection but is of high quality and features an outdoor terrace. Welcoming and helpful staff.

I had a wonderful stay here. Everything was very nice and clean. Breakfast was great. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I think a more accurate star count would be 2,5 maybe.
We had very little interaction with the staff but I have no complaints over them. They were very nice.
The location was also nice.
But the room was small and kinda reminds me of a hospital room in a rather old , not very well maintained hospital. Most things just clearly need some maintenance.
We were in between booking this hotel and a Airbnb that was pretty much the same price , maybe a tiny bit cheaper. But we ended up going with this hotel because they had breakfast… after seeing the brakefast we realised we made a mistake. It kinda looked like they just grabbed a few pastries from the bakery section in Lidl and called it a day. So that was a bit underwhelming.
The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, me and my husband both have some backaches from staying in it.
It was mostly clean , there were some stray hairs in the shower that did not belong to us.
It wasn’t awful, but we should have picked the airbnb
