Clean and central

The hotel is very central, located in via xx Settembre ( a big shopping street that leads to the historical part of town and the harbour). Staff is really nice and the room is basic but nice and clean... We had a triple room and it had a shower and sink in the room but no toilet. In the corridor there are several bathrooms that are always clean. If u are looking for central accommodation with no frills this is the right place for u...

Booked for work reasons, central and convenient location.
Unfortunately very simple room, shower cubicle in the room?? And above all shared bathroom.
Friendly and helpful owner.
Maybe for those who want to spend and stay in the center...

WHEN MADNESS EXCEEDS IMAGINATION

Let me start by saying that I never write reviews, especially negative ones, because having a business myself I know how much an unfavorable comment can have a commercial impact, but this time I can't avoid it. I had already been to the Barone hotel in Genoa about 2 years ago and I must say that I had a fairly good time because, although I was satisfied with the lack of bathroom in the room and the antiquated atmosphere of the structure such as the dated furnishings, the curtain in the old bathtub and the nice but excessively confidential manner of the night porter (that big gentleman), the price was good and above all the super central location. I suggested this hotel to some friends who, without great expectations, wanted to stay in Genoa for a few days. Searching on an online booking portal they were amazed by the offensive tone with which the owner responds to the various negative (not insulting) comments from customers and asked me if it was a joke. I went to look and saw absurd answers like "goat, you pay little for what you want, you can only find silence underground", as well as unrepeatable heavy vulgarity. I believe that the owner of this hotel completely lacks education and is a hotelier by mistake. Dear hotelier baron (in name but not in fact), you will see that you will have to close soon because you are a disgrace for the hospitality profession.

Premesso che prima cosa in una recensione ci si qualifica, se non si ha nulla da nascondere (ha forse paura che le faccia una recensione sulla sua attività?), cara anonima diddit2024; premesso che siamo qui dal 1987 e sarà ben difficile chiudere presto, visto che abbiamo un contratto fino al 2038 per tuo dispiacere; premesso che dire "quel signore grosso grosso" non è simpatico, politicamente corretto, ma discriminatorio e offensivo da parte tua; premesso che il confidenziale (in cosa poi?) se ti dava così fastidio lo avresti dovuto far notare subito; premesso che la struttura ha anche i bagni in camera, requisito non obbligatorio per gli hotel ad una stella; premesso che gli arredi non sono datati come pensi ma installati nel 2019; premesso che avendo la doccia in stanza la vasca da bagno era un di più (non ti piaceva la fantasia della tenda? L'abbiamo sostituita subito per accontentarti); premesso che la struttura è vincolata dalle Belle Arti e quindi non è antiquata ma dimora storica; premesso tutto questo, vorrei capire dove si trovano queste recensioni così ingiuriose nei confronti dei clienti, perchè noi proprio non le abbiamo trovate! Le chiacchere stanno a zero, come il voto che meriti da cliente...infine hai trovato quello che hai prenotato, il prezzo ti andava bene, con questo commento denigri te stessa e le tue capacità di prenotare una stanza! A mai più. Grazie.

A decent one-star hotel at the end of via XX Settembre, a few steps from a car park for only six euros a day (a very positive thing), with very friendly staff and great cleanliness. Too bad about the shower and sink in the room...

Flea bites

Flea bites, a duvet cover that smelt like human faeces are 2 plus points for you to book a room. Apart from its location their isn't anything else good to say about this place, I paid roughly the same price for a 3 star hotel in monaco, no idea why they charge what they do.

Dear Sir, first of all the duvets are washed about twice a month and if they smelled terribly as you say in your review, how did you sleep all night without noticing it? Perhaps you brought the problem from home because no one complained about it! How can you state with certainty that you have been bitten by fleas? It is a defamatory and false statement that, if it is not corrected, we will have to protect ourselves in the short term. Also if the staff was lovely, the rating assigned is not consistent with the rating of your review! We await your reply soon, convinced that your words are due to other types of problems not dependent on Hotel Barone. We will charge your credit card for all sums that we will spend to report you to Italian authorities and the lawyers' fees. The human feces you brought home and shame for your statements !!! The price you paid is referring to a holiday deck with high tourist occupancy and in any case you have taken advantage of an offer on Booking.com, to which we pay a commission of 19.5% ...
