Top price-performance ratio and great location. Very good service! Again and again!

The hotel is in a dream location right on the beach. Although it is getting on in years, it is great for its age. The 70s look even gives it a special flair. The breakfast was top-notch! Continental and very varied. Freshly ground coffee and hand-frothed cappuccino! The staff was super friendly. Bars and good restaurants right next door in the evening. Great view from the large balcony. A really very good price-performance ratio! Simply great.

To be avoided

Negative experience, little cleaning, towels if you get them dirty you have to pay 5 € if not you have to wait 3 days!! Balconies are a danger, kicks falling. is a Hotel that does not deserve 4 stars. Of course I'll never go again

Breakfast was good. Room was clean, but extremely small (really really small) for a family room.
Pool was big enough, but there was a hole in the middle of the deep end where a drain cover should be.
Location was good, but I would book further up the coast (north) next time.
Prebook a parking space!! I didn’t, and ended up paying £70 euros to park 150m away. Not the end of the world, but wouldn’t have been nice to know before.

The hotel definitely does not offer rooms and common areas that can reflect a 4-star standard. Small and completely soundproofed room, narrow bathroom, uncomfortable beds, very old towels, mattresses almost sagging. At the reception, strange characters take turns who have in common a total lack of empathy towards the customer. At every minor request, they seem to be completely clueless. Breakfast and dinner are far below what a 4-star hotel should offer.

expectations not met

I stayed at the Hotel Diplomat in Rimini from July 27 to August 1, 2026, with my daughter. At the time of booking, we had requested two single beds, and the request was fulfilled. Unfortunately, however, the mattresses were definitely old and worn out. We had been promised that mattress toppers would be added to improve their comfort, but this never happened.
For a property that presents itself as a 4-star hotel, I expected significantly higher standards. In my opinion, the most accurate classification would be 3 stars. General maintenance leaves something to be desired, particularly in the pool area, where several signs of wear and tear are evident and should be addressed.
The most disappointing aspect was the service at the reception: I found the staff to be lacking empathy, unhelpful, and poorly customer-oriented. Including the request for advance payment. On the contrary, I would like to compliment the dining room staff and the hotel service employees, who were always kind, professional, and efficient, and who helped make the stay more pleasant.
The hotel's atmosphere tries to convey elegance with soft music in the common areas, but this alone is not enough to create the quality and class expected from a true 4-star hotel. With more attention to maintenance, room comfort, and especially the welcome, the property could certainly improve.
