Simple, clean, good price - what do you need more?
Stayed in the female dorm with 6 beds. Mattress was worn/soft and bed squeaked with every movement; very clean bathroom (shared w the other girls in the room), little kitchen with fridge, kettle and microwave. no atmosphere, compared to other hostels I have been. Good price, though!

RETURNED HOME FULL OF BED BUG BITES ON MY LEGS
My overall experience at this hostel would have usually given a review score of 4/5 but I have returned home with bites all lover my legs due to bed bugs and therefore the review score is 1/5 as this is totally unacceptable.
There's only 4 previous reviews on here but this is because the hostel advertise solely on Booking.com and therefore all the reviews are on there to the tune of around 650.
All the bad points that are shared by the reviews so far were also my experience so they are just not one offs of certain travellers.
The good points about the hostel is that is probably the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in which makes my bed bugs issue the more surprising. I was in a 4 bed mixed dorm which was very spacious with a separate room for the toilet, shower and sink.
The fridge had ice cold water replenished every day, and there was also Tea and Coffee available throughout the day for free. In the kitchen there were many utensils along with microwave, oven, and hob etc for guests to use.
The room I was in had great AC but also an added fan as it was around 36 degrees in August which was much appreciated as most hostels don't usually have it.
In the lounge area there was a TV and throughout the hostel the Wi-Fi is very good.
The hostel is in a prime position for the bus and train stations ass it's only a 7 minute walk to both.
Within the room there was large lockers, a night light and a small balcony.
On the negative side of things you'll see many people complaining about the arrival times set up. For some strange reason there's no one at the hostel between the hours of 2-6pm. This is quite ridiculous given that that's the main times most people arrive to a city. Also the door entry is a complete jock as you have to message Alberto for self check in and hope he replies quickly so you're not standing outside for too long.
Although there's a lot of stuff to use in the kitchen, the one thing I needed wasn't there...a toaster.
Alberto is your host - when you actually see him - and he can be quite aloof in his attitude towards guests.
There's also a 5€ charge to store your luggage after 1pm - but only up until 6pm - which again is quite ridiculous, especially given that it's just left in the lounge area for anyone to pick up and walk off with. Speaking of the lounge, it's actually non existent. It's just a few bar stools up against work tops.
Whilst the hostel is very close to the stations it's actually a 25 minute walk to the centre and all the attractions.
Whilst I was happy with the room I was in there is no privacy curtains on any of the beds and my night light didn't work.
There are far too many rules and regulations set out by Alberto which doesn't make it for an enjoyable stay. In fact at times he makes you feel like he's a headmaster and you've been a naughty child.
The price to stay there was around 30€ per night which is quite expensive for a hostel given that there's no breakfast either.
The shower room was clean and spacious but also had an annoying light switch off system meaning while you were showering you could always guarantee the light would go out leaving you in pitch black darkness if showering at night.
Finally, I am writing this review over a week after returning from this hostel and I've still got some of the bed bug bites on my legs. So I would stay away from Room 8 Bed 8 if I were you!

A complete nightmare.
· Choosing Posada Verona hostel (Alberto is the name of the owner) was a grave mistake. The experience was an absolute nightmare.
1. **Unauthorized Intrusion and Mishandling**: Our room was inappropriately accessed without our consent, and our valuables were tampered with. Additionally, our precious belongings, including cameras and iPads, were carelessly packed into thin trash bags. The bags, being fragile, allowed our camera to damage our iPad inside.
2. **False Accusations and Unjust Eviction**: I was wrongly accused of smoking for merely using a towel to wipe my shoes. Due to this misunderstanding, I was abruptly evicted from the hotel. Worst of all, our valuable items and pricey electronics were stuffed into garbage bags and left outside. The owner then kicked and stepped on these bags.
3. **False Advertising**: The breakfast provided was entirely different from what was advertised.
4. **Arrogant Communication**: The staff refused to clarify the situation and exhibited a condescending attitude towards us. Moreover, several of our items went missing.
This goes beyond mere service issues; it's a sheer act of misconduct. I strongly discourage anyone from using this hotel. If you value your safety and privacy, it would be best to choose another accommodation.
If you are reading this review and wish to avoid our traumatic experience, I urge you to reconsider booking with this hotel.

Not a great experience
Our check in was very smooth and easy however the ease of staying in the hostel was not. Our stuff was constantly moved by the staff when cleaning, putting our shoes in random places and moving our food off the units. There was never any staff in when we were there to assist with things.
On our final night, 4 new people arrived to check in but there was no staff in the reception area. They were told they were going to be charged for a late check in, when they arrived on time but with no staff to assist. We had to help them to their room and give them a run down of the hostel.
When we left in the morning, I had noticed clusters of red spots / lumps on my arm, to which I had examined and was told they were bed bug bites.

Perfect when you visit Verona
Very friendly service.
Rooms clean and tidy. The place is comfortable and also safe for solo travelers.
A great place, especially if you plan to explore all the city on foot.
Close to the main tourist attractions in Verona (around 20 min. on foot).
