Average hotel

The hotel is two stories tall, but has an elevator.
[Room]
The room is spacious, with plenty of space between the beds.
There is also a sofa, and two TVs are placed so that both the bed and the sofa can watch.
The TV has a variety of channels.
The washlet is broken. It comes on all the time, so it's not reassuring.
[Breakfast]
When you check in, you declare whether you want Japanese or Western breakfast.
It takes a while for the food to be served, as they warm it up after the guest arrives.
Coffee is included with both the Japanese and Western meals.
[Parking]
There are four parking spaces next to the hotel. There is also one a little further away. If you exceed that number, you will be directed to a paid parking lot.
I wish they would buy the vacant lot next door.
[Other]
There is no sign for WIFI, but when you connect to WIFI with your smartphone, a Belfort will come out and you can connect.
There is an ice machine on the first floor.
The front desk is not always there. The door closes after 10pm, so after that, you can use the side door or when you check in.

Ideal environment for tourism

It is by no means new, and the facilities are undeniably old. However, there is a sense of calm that new hotels do not have. It has the bare necessities, so depending on what you are looking for, I think it is sufficient.
Since it is a two-story hotel, you don't have to wait for an elevator, and you can go to the Tsushima Museum, sightseeing, or walk around town. I think it is a good location for sightseeing. It is within walking distance of restaurants and bars, and there is a drugstore a few minutes away.
Breakfast is prepared in the restaurant on the first floor. You can choose between Japanese and Western food, but the portions are just right. When you stay multiple nights, they change the menu a little, which is nice.
If you are considering the Izuhara area as a base for sightseeing, I recommend it.

Standard middle level japanese hotel

Decent hotel and standard room but lacking of any charm. Quiet small hotel in a backside street of Izuhara. There are better options in this small town. Tsushima is worth the trip for its gorgeous unspoiled landscapes specially the spectacular Aso bay.

A chance visit turned out great

A deluxe hotel among the lodging establishments on the island of Tsushima, Hotel Bell Foret provided hospitability on a very heart-felt level. I didn't stay overnight at the hotel so I cannot review the 'sleep quality' side of it. However, I would very much recommend it based on the experience of 'human quality' of the place.
It was a chance by visit to grab a lunch time meal but I was received by the owner, Mr. Ohta, and sat at the same table with fellow guests. He later showed me around the hotel and a Gift centre which he also operates. The openess of it all impressed me and I made another visit the next day to meet a doctor working on a project at the island's hospital, a musician and the island's oil company director.
Travelling is not always about sightseeing but also about coming into contact with the people who are living and working at the location, and it was great to experience it so liberally. Only thing holding me back was my little knowledge Japanese but it was made up by little English of the host and a lot of mutual interest by both parties.
The hotel is located on the quiet street near the main streets of Izuhara and therefore does not provide much of a view but quiet and discreet stay at a convinient location.
Price ranges above 6,500 yen which is above the average and all rooms are equipped with AC, LAN internet and flat panel TV.
