The service at the Ryokan was excellent. In spite of our mutual inability to understand each others languages we managed to communicate well using our phones and simple gestures. The level of care and attention to detail was brilliant. Whatever you do, try their cuisine - it too displays a high regard for flavor, preparation and texture. We have eaten at Michelin starred restaurants that were not as good as this.. We felt pampered on all levels and thoroughly recommend this beautiful, traditional Ryokan.

Okutama Winter Healing

We stayed at Arazawaya Ryokan and had dinner and breakfast at Akabeko. The dinner was very good, and the landlady was super beautiful and very satisfied with the service. We went there for the anniversary, and we enjoyed a very special day with some festive sake from the locals. There were two types of baths, but I felt there was a difference between high and low temperatures. I was grateful that I liked the low temperature.
I don't eat breakfast every day, but what I was served was so delicious that I finished it! The eggs that a local high school student said they made were also very good. I would like to come back again!

Hospitality is outstanding❣

The building is old but renovated and the rooms are clean. The bath is spacious for this type of Inn and can accommodate three people at the same time. The hospitality of the landlady and her mother (and then the part-time girls) is amazing, and it's understandable that they have a following of repeat customers. The food is simple, mainly yamame and wild plants, but grilled yamame with salt is very good! The chicken omelet (raised by local high school students) tamago kake gohan for breakfast is also great! Recommended inn if you are going to Okutama!

暖かい宿

15時半と少し早めに到着。むかしみちが下りメインの予想と違いけっこう登りがあり汗だくだったので、早速貸し切り風呂でさっぱり。大女将に聞いたら若い時、むかしみち作りの手伝いをしたそう。夕飯は１階の居酒屋赤べこ。福島県の赤べこがなぜ奥多摩？若女将が福島出身と聞いて納得。写真撮り忘れたけど、料理はどれも美味しく若女将、若旦那の接客も申し分なし。お世話になりました。

温泉の癒し

温泉がとても気持ちよかったです。久しぶりに足を延ばしてゆったりとした空間でお風呂につかれたと思います。熱すぎず適度な温度で、私の好きな長風呂を楽しめたと思います。久しぶりにほっと一息。
