Best experience ever

We stayed at the Komatsu Ryokan for 6 nights this past week and we can not explain enough how much we loved it and how sad we were to leave. The place is a real gem. The hosts are the most welcoming and kind people we have ever met. They have thought about everything that a traveler might need at their place. Green tea in the room and little snacks in the common area. We could not believe it when our host gave us a little goodbye gift on our way out.
The place is pristine. I tried so hard to find anything that was dirty in the entire place and I just couldn't. One shower is more than enough (in my personal opinion), because the place only has 5 rooms for rent. So it never gets crowded. There are complimentary toothbrushes and shampoo, and soap.
There are at least 4 different subway stations within 10-15 minute walk from the ryokan. There is a huge market down the road, lots of restaurants and even a laundromat.
I highly recommend this place. And if I am ever back in Tokyo I will definitely be staying at the Komatsu Ryokan! :)

Excellent stay

We are a group of 4 friends (all girls) and we stayed here when we went to Japan. The owners are very welcoming and very kind. They even gave us green tea as welcoming drinks. They have a translating device to suggest where to go and what to ride. There is only 1 female and 1 male toilet and 1 shower room. It is located approximately 15 minutes from the nearest subway station. The neighborhood is also very quiet. When it was our time to leave the ryokan, they gave us a handwritten letter in our language with some green tea sachets and chocolates. We were very satisfied and happy with our stay here in Komatsu Ryokan.

Good for travelers on a budget

The location for this ryokan (Japanese inn) is very convenient, it is close to a main station that allows you to get anywhere in Tokyo easily. The room is small however for the price you are paying it is ok. The facilities were clean and caretaker was nice.

Small and homely

Great location, easy to get to Ueno st. Rooms mostly taken up by bedding. One central kitchen area, and ond shower room. Great value for money. Well signed and there is a back entrance for late arrival.

Tradition Meets Convenience

Great Ryokan. Within walking distance to Ueno Station which will give you access to all of Tokyo. Front desk was helpful and very kind. The entire ryokan was immaculately clean. Its a small space which means its never too crowded. I loved this place.
