Perfect hotel.
It deserves all the stars: beautiful colonial-style building in perfect condition; perfect pool and another separate one for children; possibility of eating even at tables in the same area; good-sized rooms, with a large bathroom and wonderful amenities; generous with drinking water; breakfast simply delicious, with a particular level in everything that has "legendary" in front and "Raffles" behind; good restaurant and bar; very interesting shops; and incredibly attentive staff who, through convenient WhatsApp messages, try to locate anything you can think of (not getting the impossible, of course). Special mention to our very attentive butler Tingkea, it is an additional luxury to have him.

A truly special stay – Raffles at its very best
Raffles Hotel Le Royal absolutely lives up to the Raffles name. There is a wonderful old-world elegance to this nearly 100-year-old hotel, a building filled with history and character. Having read many books about Cambodia in which the hotel was mentioned, it almost felt like an honour to finally be able to stay here.
The atmosphere is quite unique: elegant without being ostentatious, discreet, beautifully decorated and incredibly peaceful. Despite its central location in Phnom Penh, the hotel feels like a little oasis of calm away from the bustle of the city.
The service was outstanding throughout our stay. The complimentary tuk-tuk service to take guests around Phnom Penh was such a lovely touch, and the drivers were exceptionally kind and helpful. A very special mention must go to Penh Khan, with whom I spent quite a lot of time. He was absolutely wonderful – warm, helpful and genuinely kind – and contributed enormously to making our stay so memorable.
Tingkea Lech, our private butler, was equally attentive and helpful, always available to book restaurants, make recommendations or give us advice on where to go. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble.
The pool is beautiful and wonderfully peaceful, the perfect place to relax after exploring Phnom Penh. Breakfast was excellent: à la carte, unlimited, with delicious, high-quality products. And after several weeks travelling around Southeast Asia, I have to admit that I eventually needed a burger – and the one I had here was genuinely one of the best I have ever eaten!
Our room was beautiful, with that timeless colonial luxury and old-world charm that suits the history of the hotel perfectly.
What impressed us perhaps most, however, were all the thoughtful personal touches. We were celebrating my father’s 80th birthday, and the hotel made the occasion very special. When my father became unwell, they were also incredibly considerate and arranged a late check-out for us. These gestures made a real difference.
Raffles Hotel Le Royal combines history, elegance, discretion and exceptional service in a way that very few hotels manage to do. More importantly, the warmth of the people working there made our stay truly unforgettable.

World class hospitality
I was at the end of a long walk, and in need of a comfortable place to sit and check email. I walked in the front entrance of Raffles Le Royal, and was immediately greeted by a smiling and lovely hostess as well as Mr. Kanhol Ya, who told me I was welcome to sit in their lobby, and even sent me a delicious and refreshing lemongrass tea to cool off with. Exceptionally friendly people are actually pretty common in this city, and I am pleased to report that Raffles is full of the graceful and friendly atmosphere that makes Phnom Penh such a special place.

The Best Experience!
We had such a wonderful experience in most amazing hotel. The ambience and the decor of the hotel and restaurant was sensational. Our waitress for the evening, Pisey, went out of her way to make us feel special and welcome as did the other staff in their allocated roles. We will definitely be coming back upon our next visit - so until then please keep our seats warm and we look forward to seeing you again - Ian Davies
