Auberg Hotel=roadside motel

Guys, staying one night in early March 2026. Terrible everything: dirty rooms, noisy, always empty reception, cold, unwelcome staff who barely speak English. Check out at 10:00 AM!!!
We recommend you bypass this barn by the tenth road.
Although, of course, it's up to you...

An absolute dive

An absolute dive with minimal investment and facilities. Only positives are its proximity to the train station, and that it seemed relatively safe.
From arrival, it’s clear that the occasional reception staff have zero interest in their guests. The nicest aspect of the hotel (bar leaving) is probably the staircase to the rooms - once you manage to open your bedroom door it’s downhill from there. Thin mattresses are on bed frames approximately 1 cm from the floor. Duvets have yet to make it to this establishment and they are still using faded eiderdowns. It’s not clear if these are washed between guests. Each guest is allocated two thin stained and odd smelling towels. There are no amenities in the rooms bar a French language TV - no kettle or tea/coffee making facilities, no water, and no mini fridge. We did have a safe, but it did not work.
The very first time I used the bathroom, the door handle came off on the inside, and I was trapped until my roommate opened the door from the other side. I don’t know how long I would have been stuck there had I been a solo traveller. The hand soap dispenser also fell off the wall the first time we used it, and covered the sink area in liquid soap. We did inform reception, but they never did anything about this for the duration of our stay. The bathroom shower is similar to that at a public swimming pool - an unmovable nozzle very high up on the wall in a mouldy cubicle with no water pressure. Impossible to really feel clean or to wash your hair. The shower cubicles are enclosed by unhygienic shower curtains. There is a 1970s hairdryer in the bathroom that is wired to the wall, but when I turned it on all I received was a strong smell of smoke and a red flame inside the hairdryer. Not too surprisingly, I did not continue with this effort to dry my hair.
We ate dinner on one night in the restaurant below the hotel, heartened by seeing how busy this restaurant is with workers at lunchtime. The allegedly Italian food was soggy and tasteless, the restaurant full of flies, and we were overcharged, though they did remove these incorrect charges when I pointed them out.
In short, stay elsewhere - there are other hotels in Luxembourg at a similar price point that offer much better quality and services.

Very bad experience, and definitely not going back

Despite having informed the hotel manager of the delay of my train and having told me that staff would be there to welcome me, I found myself stuck in front of the hotel: no response on the intercom nor on the phone. After 20 minutes of unsuccessful attempts, I was forced to leave to find another hotel for the night. In addition, the neighborhood's traffic at night is very suspicious and far from reassuring.
Returning to the hotel during the day to get some explanations, the managers showed no understanding or commercial gesture for this night which was paid and not "used"... Knowing that I had to pay to find accommodation elsewhere. In short, establishment to avoid...

Luxemberg trip

It is a dump as soon as you arrive reception place stinks of food and kitchen door was open , dirty filthy kitchen, receptionist or owner whoever he was could not give a sh… s. about clients.
Rude person .
Rooms are okey TV does not work called receptionist or owner could not careless it does not work can not do anything checkout if you want.
Not worth staying hostels are better than this place

Great location near train station

We stayed here in late Feb 23, randomly selected because we wanted to stay in easy walking distance to the train station, buses and trams. It was perfect. It's on a quiet street with a lot of foot traffic due to restaurants up the street. The hotel has no parking but public garages are near by. There are two handicap spaces in front of the hotel but you still have to feed the meter except on Sunday. The hotel was clean as was our room and the stairway. Our room was sparten but good. We could not figure out how to navigate the TV in that everything was in French. We could turn it on and off but gave up after that. The combined hotel & restaurant brochure was only in French. No city maps were available. We believe it is a mom and pop operation combined with the attached restaurant Trattoria Dei Quattro. The hotel did not offer breakfast, not even coffee. The restaurant was closed too for breakfast on the weekends. We walked around the corner to a small grocery store (open on Sunday) for coffee and bread. Burger King was next door to the grocery store but did not open until 1100 and our check out time was 10 am. MCD was down the street but they did not offer a breakfast menu or coffee. Would be nice to have a coffee maker in the room or a pay as u go machine in the lobby. The restaurant in the hotel was open on Sat when we arrived but we did not eat there. There is a front desk but not manned. You have to ring the bell. We would stay there again because of the location to the busses and trams which are all FREE.
