Located in City Center, a neighborhood in Tangier, Fredj Hotel and Spa is near the airport and near the beach. Terrasse des Paresseux and Tangier American Legation Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include DARNA, The Women’s Association of Tangier and Villa Harris Gardens. This hotel features an outdoor pool, a restaurant, and a bar/lounge. Free WiFi in public areas and free valet parking are also provided. In the hotels hay day, it must of been something special but now days standards have dropped.
Check-in woman delayed my check in which wasn't a great start. Check in is at 2pm and rooms should be ready for check-in.
All the other staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room wasn't ready. The room was fairly clean, some light bulbs weren't working, fridge wasn't working.
Positive note breakfast was one of the best I very had. . Well done to the kitchen staff. Delicious.

2 star service in the shell of a 4 star hotel
Check-in nightmare. We booked through a third-party site (like Booking.com). Upon arrival, the receptionist claimed our reservation had been cancelled and refunded but that the third party had never notified us. When we called the third party directly, they told us they had received no cancellation notice from the hotel whatsoever. The third party service then directly contacted the hotel to resolve the issue and I literally watched the receptionist reject the calls, then tell me that she did not receive any calls. When I tried to put her on the phone with the third party agency directly from my phone, she refused. After hours of scrambling to find alternative accommodation and going back and forth with reception, our "cancelled" booking was mysteriously reinstated, and we were given our room within five minutes. The hotel deliberately overbooks its rooms across platforms to make as much of a profit as possible, and then cancels on guests they do not want to accommodate.
The rooms look beautiful but are falling apart. The entire hotel clearly has a water leak or flooding problem. As a direct consequence, the bathroom doors don't close properly, meaning you will use the bathroom with the door wide open. Yes, really. There is visible rust throughout the bathroom. The mattresses are badly stained. The towels arrive stained as well. The mini-fridge is empty and doesn't work, we assumed it was functional and returned to spoiled food. Half the electrical outlets in the room don't work. The room-service phone is unplugged and broken, so you can't call for anything.
Non-existent amenities and service. The spa advertised by the hotel is completely closed, it isn't operational at all. When we asked reception about laundry service, they directed us to housekeeping. Housekeeping laughed in our faces and told us reception should handle it. I have stayed in motels with better service than this, seriously.
The one positive: The sea view is genuinely lovely, and it's the only reason this review isn't a flat zero.
Bottom line: If you want an honest picture of this hotel, read the reviews from the past two years. It appears the property has severely declined in quality. We only stayed because we couldn't rebook anywhere else within our price range at the last minute. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

Do not recommend - not as advertised
Significant discrepancy between the property as advertised and the reality we experienced upon arrival.
After seeing the actual conditions of the hotel, I strongly believe that this property should be under review and be reconsidered whether it is being accurately represented and appropriately advertised as a 4-star hotel.
Unfortunately, the hotel does not correspond to the pictures or description presented at all. This applies to both the exterior and the interior of the property. The overall condition is bad and, in our experience, nowhere near what we would reasonably expect from a 4-star hotel.
Among the issues we experienced were:
No Wi-Fi available.
Doors in the bathroom/toilet and shower areas that do not close at all.
Ripped bed sheets, including sheets with cigarette burn marks.
Chairs with visible stains.
Electrical plugs that do not work do not work at all.
A general lack of proper cleaning and maintenance.
Rust visible throughout different areas of the property, including the bathtub.
Room refrigerators empty and that did not work at all.
Having to repeatedly reprogram or replace room key card every single day, while being asked "but you checked out".
Towels were not provided on the first and second days of our stay and we had to contact several times to get them.
On the first days, even basic supplies such as toilet paper were not properly provided in the room.
The breakfast was also very disappointing, one week same offer...and not to a 4 star regular standard. The selection was very limited and repetitive, and the overall experience did not reflect the standard we expected based on the hotel's advertised classification.
The outdoor areas are also in bad condition. The swimming pool has broken and damaged rubber areas, the parasols are damaged, and there are accumulated rubbish and broken items around the property. The restaurant area also appears to be barely operating and looks nothing like the photos advertised. There are only a few tables available, and even basic items such as small bottles of water were not available for purchase.
The hotel bar was also not operating as we would reasonably expect from a 4-star property. Spa not operating at all.
I would like to add that the staff themselves have tried their best to assist us, and we appreciate their efforts. However, the fundamental problem is that the conditions of the hotel are far beyond what individual members of staff can resolve. The property is clearly in need of significant maintenance, cleaning, and renovation.
After we initially complained we could see that the staff made an effort to improve some aspects of our stay, and we appreciate that. However, these efforts cannot change the fundamental condition of the property. The problems are structural and widespread, and unfortunately, staff can't do anything to resolve them.
Most importantly, the hotel we experienced is simply not the hotel represented in the photographs and description when purchasing the holidays. The images create an expectation of a completely different property, both in terms of appearance and standard. This is extremely disappointing and misleading for customers who book and pay based on the information and photos provided on holiday platforms.
I therefore strongly do not recommend, since platforms should investigate this property and review whether its current listing, photos, description, and 4-star classification that should accurately reflect the reality of the hotel. I believe it is important that future customers are not placed in the same situation, expecting a property that is completely different from what they actually find upon arrival.

Worse hotel I ever stayed
Worse hotel I ever been we had to be begging for towels the whole 4 days stay here the hotel it’s falling apart nothing work internet very slow aircon wasn’t working at it best USB plug to charge our devices wasn’t working I don’t not recommend anybody to stay in this hotel disgusting
