Great stay in Dresden

Wonderful stay . The service was exceptional, starting from the front desk with Sophia and Alexa . Beautiful rooms and great breakfast. Location is fantastic. Will definitely recommend!

Nice Bonvoy property in Dresden

Stayed during a roadtrip in Germany. Staff were very friendly and location was central. Parked a block away in a city lot for a very low price. There is an indoor one under the Hampton in for double the city lot rate. Very Reasonably priced for a mid-high end hotel. Breakfast was very good. It was during the heatwave, front desk sent up a fan in addition to AC that would be considered weak by US standard. All in all a great stay. Would definitely be back if I am in the area again.

Would definitely choose this hotel again

Nice vibe and rooms. Helpful staff.
We were in Dresden to go to the Semper Opera House. We walked there and took a tram back. Sure, there are hotels closer to the opera but we'd choose this hotel again if that was why we were in Dresden.
We took trams to and from the Hauptbahnhof then walked. The trickiest thing in Dresden HBH is going to the right tram stop: maybe ask the hotel staff in advance if you want to be sure.
Pool was in a basement level but decorated in green rainforest design to avoid an 'underground' feeling. Very quiet when I was there, good for doing aqua fitness exercises.

Ultimate comfort!

The entire stay went smoothly and was extremely pleasant. In particular, the willingness of the service team to support us unconditionally was unparalleled. Not to forget the room upgrade.
Be it valet parking, the phone inquiry in the room after arrival to check if we are comfortable, the service at breakfast with unobtrusive efficiency, or the bar service.
We were completely satisfied!!

The price does not match the service provided.

After months of anticipation and a long journey, we had certain expectations for a hotel with five-star claims in Dresden. Unfortunately, we must note that our stay at Gewandhaus was rather disappointing in many respects.
The first impression of the hotel was not very inviting. The entrance area, with an improvised-looking metal ramp and plastic covering, as well as unkempt vegetation along the facade, hardly aligns with the standards your hotel wishes to convey.
The lobby initially made a pleasant impression, but the disappointment quickly set in once we entered the room. We found the bathtub as a shower entry particularly problematic, as it poses a safety risk, especially for older guests. Additionally, the water temperature was extremely difficult to regulate. The fixtures leave little room for proper adjustment, and even with successful calibration, it seems that simply using a faucet at the sink causes the shower to abruptly switch between hot and cold.
Our contact with the reception was particularly frustrating as well. In response to the question about recommendations for city tours or hikes in the surrounding area, we were informed that they themselves had no real knowledge on the matter. Additionally, it was explained that guests are usually prepared anyway, and therefore nothing further can be contributed. Such an understanding of service and hospitality has indeed surprised us in a hotel of your category. Furthermore, the information regarding tram connections was partially incorrect.
The quality of housekeeping noticeably declined after a short time. There were missing replacement toilet paper rolls, towels were not completely replaced, and the general care in cleaning noticeably decreased – despite our conscious decision to forgo daily towel changes for environmental reasons. Moreover, the minibar was not restocked, and no additional water was available the following day.
Overall, our stay raises the serious question of what the designated five-star claim of your establishment currently relies on.
