Shocking
We felt sorry for the diligent young employee who was solely responsible for both the reception and breakfast on Friday morning and bore the brunt of the management's failure. For this reason, the Ibis Styles is the most run-down Ibis I have ever stayed at worldwide. The room with a balcony on the 3rd floor was spacious. That was, however, all the positive aspects. Even the entrance area (the hotel is hardly recognizable from the outside) was marked by dirt and unattractiveness. From the inside, it resembles a B&B without a notable lobby and no dining options. The breakfast is a loveless industrial product and not worth the 15 euros. Since there is no extra staff, only half of the tables were available. The hallway to the room is as dark as in a horror movie (half of the ceiling lights are broken), and one must turn on the phone flashlight to get to room 301 with the key. Perhaps this is also why no light bulbs are replaced, so that the run-down condition of the hallway and elevator is not visible. The windows in the room were washed years ago, and it is difficult to recognize the quality from the outside. One of the windows was completely missing the blackout curtain, so the sun woke us up at 5 AM. Even at night, the street lighting shines in. In the bathroom, a fan makes such a noise that one does not wish to stay there for long. It turns off automatically after 30 minutes, and one should not turn on the light at night if one needs to go. Otherwise, you will have a little night music even in bed. The furniture is worn out, and some parts are already missing from the armchair. But maybe that is the style in Styles, just like the peeling paint everywhere.

Too bad. Not up to the usual Ibis standard
Accustomed to the Ibis Styles brand, I was very disappointed by this establishment, which is clearly not up to the expected standard.
> The hotel is old-fashioned and urgently needs major renovations. It is located a bit outside the center, in a neighborhood surrounded by dilapidated buildings, which is not very welcoming.
> Regarding comfort, the experience was complicated: no air conditioning, a very noisy environment, poor bedding, and particularly uncomfortable pillows. Sleep was not to be had.
> The only positive points: the cleanliness of the room was impeccable and the breakfast was quite decent.
Staff that provides a basic service.

A strange, dark, uncomfortable hotel without air conditioning, below the standard of ibis Styles.
The ibis Styles flag is a differentiated design version of the traditional ibis budget hotels. Unlike the ibis “red”, the Styles flag is positioned a level up, adding complementary services and a design concept that should elevate the customer experience. However, this is not the reality of the ibis Styles Dresden Neustadt. Quite the opposite: my experience was horrible during the two nights in this hotel.
The design proposal is extremely bad. The black walls, combined with the low brightness, provide a sinister and suffocating feeling. Although the room was reasonably large, the shower was extremely small; a bigger person could not use it with the door closed.
The building is old, with wooden flooring, and whenever someone walks in the bedroom or in the hallway the whole floor range, which is especially annoying during the night. Another very negative point, especially in the summer, is that, unlike what is stated on the site, the hotel does not have air conditioning. My room was very hot, and it was extremely difficult to sleep due to the constant heat and noise from the wooden floor.
Unfortunately, the best Accor hotel in Dresden — the Pullman — has disappeared from the chain, and currently there are no good options near the center for Accor customers. In the ibis Styles Dresden Neustadt, I will never stay again.

Highly recommended hotel
I really liked the ibis Styles in Dresden's Neustadt district. The hotel is quite easy to reach by public transport, the reception was friendly and everything went smoothly. The room was quite nicely decorated - which always strikes me positively with ibis Styles anyway. It was all clean and well maintained, even if you noticed something in the stairwell the age of the building: but I didn't really find that bad.
