Crammed in and over heated
Location is excellent, 5 minute walk from Centraal Station, close to trams and walkable to many of the main attractions. The staff were helpful and there is a very social bar downstairs. Room and bathroom were clean.
I booked a 6 bedroom female dorm. Several improvements could be made. Comparably priced hostels have better facilities.
Firstly make it a 4 bed dorm, and put in upright lockers. We were crammed in and whenever anyone pulled out their underbed locker it made it impossible to move around the room. People left them pulled out overnight, making a huge hazard if there’d been a fire. Curtains around the beds would have made a big difference to privacy. Finally the dodgy air conditioning was inadequate, and noisy, though that acted a bit like white noise to block out the street noises!

Terrible service
Do not recommend to anyone traveling alone. I’m a female traveling internationally on my own and arrived for the reservation that I booked and paid for. When I arrived, I was told my reservation was canceled, and my bed was given away. I asked for a refund and have been given the runaround trying to get my money back. Since the bed was filled the hostel didn’t lose any money. The person at the front desk seemed more interested in drinking with the guest then resolving the issue they caused. This was during pride week so there was no other hostels with availability. It’s a safety concern and seems like a scam if they keep the money they took without rendering any services

Best hostel in Amsterdam
Vibes were awesome staff super friendly showers and bedding very clean highly recommended we became best mates with one of the staff who also was staying there (didn’t catch his name but he was French) highly recommend if you are staying in Amsterdam. Great beer pong tournaments. Can honestly say best hostel I’ve stayed in. From Benny Benny Benny

AWFUL EXPERIENCE
AWFUL!!! This was our 3rd time staying at this hostel. This time, based upon our recommendation, nearly the entire rugby team stayed here. Because we had a group of 14, we requested the entire 14 person room be just for our team. Apparently, they really don't know how to accept a group reservation. After multiple emails and the expense of international phone calls, they told us all to book separately, and then charged us all additional money in order to change our reservation to put them all together in one room. Even with paying the extra money, we didn't all end up in the same room and we didn't get the entire room to ourselves. There were different strangers in our room every night. They refused to refund any of the extra money we paid. On top of that, the staff (especially manager Chris) was condescending, rude and downright nasty to all of us. They turned our key cards off multiple times, kept leaving us nasty notes reminding us that we were not in a private room (that we paid for) and every time we had a question or needed help with something, we were greeted with comments like "oh it's you all again." We will be filing a consumer complaint against this hostel and we will never be back. We really regret ever recommending this place to anyone.
