Situated in the Oosterpark, Hotel Arena is located in the upcoming eastern part of Amsterdam. Guests can enjoy food and drinks with a view at café- restaurant PARK.

Very friendly staff throughout our stay. Comfortable beds, sitting areas to visit. Definitely would recommend

Nice stay overall, but some improvements needed
Hotel is set in a lovely location being oosterpark, restaurant and bar area is nice too. They offer bike rental, umbrella rental and free lockers which are useful to hold luggage if you arrive before check in, or need somewhere to store luggage.
We had to change rooms straight after checking in as there was a nail poking through the floorboards. Second room was much more spacious however there was an awful sewage smell from bathroom if shower/toilet was used. Our room was only cleaned once, you are advised to put the ‘clean my room’ sign out if you’d like your room to be cleaned however it was only cleaned once despite putting this out each day.
We stayed in 225 and within this section there were a number of rooms being renovated, so there was lots of noise with construction being carried out. Not ideal being woken up by construction, however didn’t bother us too much during the day as we were out and about.
Distance to centre of Amsterdam is a fair walk. Having been before and stayed in a different area, I’d suggest if you are planning on walking into the centre most days, stay somewhere a little closer than Hotel Arena.

Not quite how it looks in the photos
This hotel has a beautiful location with lovely public areas but your rooms seem to vary considerably.
Our bathroom and general maintenance of the room looked nothing like the adverts. They were dated and difficult for tall people to clamber into the shower because of the ceilings and the fact you were stood in a sunken bath to shower .
Our bed was up a very steep set of stairs on a different floor to the bathroom. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or health conditions.
Outside park is nice. If you get a new room overlooking the park, you have won. If you get a double level non refurbished room on the street, then you haven't.

Room was very clean, but our bed was on the mezzanine. This is normally not an issue, but I would like to warn older less mobile guests, that the staircase towards the bedroom is steep and small.
Bathroom was very modern and clean, but the toilet isn't separate.

Very Enjoyable Stay
We had a lovely stay here for three nights. Rooms air conditoned, modern and very clean. Short walk to tram or metro for easy access to the city centre. Lovely quiet area. We booked 2 rooms for our two teenagers and ourselves. We had to pay a €300 deposit for the three nights which was fully refunded within a few days. Staff very friendly and great locker facilities to store your luggage.
