A jem right in the heart of Amsterdam
My husband and I stayed at Mister Highland for two nights before we left for a 12 night Scandinavian Cruise. It was difficult to choose for the huge variety of hotel offerings, but we believe that this hit all the needs of our trip.
The bed was comfortable, view of Roken from the room was amazing, and the air conditioning was appreciated. We loved the charm of a older building in a great location.
The complementary breakfast was well stocked with a great selection of items. And the Lavazza coffee was an excellent addition.
One of our favourite and unexpected things was the lobby and the free drinks provided. We spent hours each day walking around Amsterdam and we so thrilled to come back at the end of the day to sit and enjoy a Coke or Heineken as well as a view of the street. Such a welcoming environment!
The only downside was the door between the bedroom and toilet/shower. It was frosted and did not close, or ran from ceiling to floor. A fully enclosed area would have been preferable, but did not take away from our experience whatsoever.
Book it. You won't be disappointed.

Don't stay here
Smells bad! They keep spraying room freshener all over the hotel that smells like bug spray.
The towels are frayed and have holes in them..my single room was dark and small and very noisy because it opened to the street..the breakfast was fine except the fruit salad was squishy, it had been out too long..

We stayed for two nights, 100% would return, rooms so clean and modern, staff so friendly, we has breakfast included which was nice food.Lovely location a few mins walk into the centre of everytbing

Wow, just everything you ever wanted.
We arrived and was greeted by Sheri. Check in was very simple. He was attentive gave lots of info and informed us of free drinks in the reception area. Wine, beer soft drinks and snacks.
The room was excellent and as promised located City view on the second floor.
Free tea and coffee as well as water in the mini bar.
The location is spot on for navigating around Amsterdam. The Metro is to the right outside the hotel and canal trips were 100m to the left.
You get correspondence on WhatsApp asking if all is ok. You can reply. We had run low on tea and in 10 minutes they knocked on the door with provisions.
Overall thus is an exceptional hotel. Very well maintained, fully staffed and we had a very pleasant stay.
I must add that I'm mostly impressed with Sheri. He was alway on hand to make fresh mint Tea and give help when we needed it. So thank you.

very nice!
location was great, seemed to be pretty central from a lot of the things to do and see. overall vibe and atmosphere was good, staff was very friendly! rooms were nice, we had a standard double and worked well for us as a couple. amenities were nice, we added the breakfast buffet which was very clean and good but basic breakfast meal! would definitely stay here again!
