Dreamlike getaway at the highest level in beautiful nature
Excellent ambiance at a very high stylish level in nature. The best part, however, is that despite a fully booked house, free lounge areas, dining locations, sauna, and relaxation rooms were always available, and we could enjoy the impression of total relaxation in the most beautiful nature.

Ski slope in March sun on the doorstep
The location of the hotel is great for skiers but also hikers.
We felt very welcome at the hotel - not only given the extraordinarily friendly welcome by Walter. Generally speaking, the entire staff is extremely friendly and courteous in every respect. Food as well as spa are top. Infusions in the Finnish sauna are unfortunately only available on three days. There is still room for improvement here.

Spa Chalet booked months in advance, not available on arrival
We travelled from Australia and had deliberately planned this Christmas trip as something unique. My partner had never experienced snow before, and I also celebrated a special birthday in 2025. Three nights in the Spa Chalet of the Hotel Das Goldberg were planned as an emotional highlight. The reservation was made on 04.06.2025 and confirmed in writing. Wellness treatments have also been booked in advance.
Upon our arrival on December 23rd – just in time for check-in time – the reception started friendly. However, after some waiting time we were informed that the Spa Chalet we booked was not available, as it had been allocated elsewhere at short notice. Our booking had existed for several months at this time.
Instead of the chalet we were offered the double room S, the smallest category in the house. On request it was explained that the guests currently staying in the chalet could not be expected to change. An equivalent solution in the house was ruled out. The proposed external alternatives were neither in line with the booked equipment nor practicable. After about three hours of talking and waiting (and thus the loss of a significant part of our first day of vacation) we finally accepted the smaller room so that we did not have to cancel the stay completely.
What is crucial for us is not that a mistake has occurred, but the way in which we deal with it. The main service booked and confirmed in writing was ultimately not available. If a long-term confirmed reservation is not given priority at the crucial moment, the question of the reliability of such commitments necessarily arises.
Independently, the house offers an appealing ambience, a very good cuisine and a convincing wellness area. It is precisely for this reason that we would have expected a clear signal of commitment and appreciation to be sent in dealing with this situation.
For us this stay was planned as a unique experience. The loss of the actual travel highlight and the associated loss of confidence have a lasting effect.
We award two stars. A rebooking is out of the question for us, but we will continue to share our experience in the Australian and European circle of friends.

wir bedauern sehr, dass es bei Ihrer Reservierung zu dieser für alle Beteiligten sehr unangenehmen Situation gekommen ist. Unser Bedauern und unsere Entschuldigung haben wir bereits vor Ort mehrfach zum Ausdruck gebracht.
Sie hatten von uns ursprünglich ein Angebot sowohl für das Spa Chalet als auch für das Studio S erhalten. Als Sie sich für das Chalet entscheiden wollten, war dieses zwischenzeitlich leider bereits vergeben. Wir haben Ihnen daraufhin mitgeteilt, dass nur noch das Studio S verfügbar ist, welches Sie anschließend auch schriftlich gebucht haben.
Durch einen internen Fehler wurde das ursprüngliche Chalet-Angebot im System jedoch nicht deaktiviert und daher fälschlicherweise auch in der Bestätigung angeführt. Leider ist uns dieser Fehler erst bei Ihrer Anreise aufgefallen. Dafür möchten wir uns nochmals aufrichtig entschuldigen.
Da der Fehler bereits zum Zeitpunkt der Buchung entstanden ist und aus unserem Schriftverkehr hervorging, dass das Spa Chalet nicht mehr verfügbar war, konnte vor Ort nur das Studio S – die bestätigte Kategorie – zur Verfügung gestellt werden.
Ihrem Wunsch, Gäste aus dem bereits belegten Chalet auszuchecken, konnten wir leider nicht nachkommen. Selbstverständlich haben wir dennoch versucht, die Situation bestmöglich abzufedern und Ihnen vor Ort mehrere Vorteile sowie eine deutliche Preisreduktion nach Ihren Vorstellungen anzubieten.

Always happy - ski holidays at the highest level!
We were already at the Goldberg for the second time and completely enthusiastic again: The hotel is beautifully elevated right on the ski slope and you can ski directly to and from the hotel. Since the section down to the gondola is relatively steep, the hotel offers a shuttle to the gondola for less experienced skiers. We had again the beautiful tower room XL with large terrace and fireplace. It is extraordinarily beautiful, quiet and offers great views. At dinner we had a very nice table at the front of the window and had a very great view. Even the food leaves nothing to be desired: it is diverse, high quality and offers enough choice. You can also order schnitzel daily if you want. Breakfast is huge and offers so many delicious things and a huge selection of delicious breads. And of course not to forget the always totally nice and helpful staff, which makes every moment just a pampering moment. Our dog also felt completely comfortable because he was also received so lovingly.
The wellness area is very nice and clean, but with only three saunas (finnish sauna, steam bath and herbal sauna) rather manageable. There are additional large relaxation rooms in the lower area. Nevertheless, we found it disturbing that the hotel is open to the public for the spa and offers day spa. Gradually on the weekend and bad weather there are many external guests and it was partly really crowded. As mentioned, there are plenty of loungers in different areas, but the three saunas and the only five or six showers are then quite crowded. For the hotel guest this is of course not so nice. Here we would like the spa to be open only to hotel guests.

Wie schön, dass Sie das Turmzimmer XL mit Terrasse und Kamin wieder genießen konnten – der Ausblick und die Ruhe dort sind tatsächlich etwas Besonderes. Auch Ihr Lob für die Kulinarik, den Fensterplatz im Restaurant, das vielfältige Frühstück sowie unser Team geben wir sehr gerne weiter. Dennoch kann es an stark frequentierten Tagen – etwa an Wochenenden oder bei Schlechtwetter – subjektiv voller wirken, viele unserer Gäste nutzen noch den Spa Bereich am Abreisetag kostenfrei bis 15 Uhr. Ihr Hinweis ist für uns sehr wertvoll, denn ein ausgewogenes und entspanntes Spa-Erlebnis für unsere Hotelgäste steht für uns an oberster Stelle.

Bad experience. Hotel doesn’t have maintenance.
Employees are rude to clients ignoring basic skills to deal with international guests.
