We booked the tasting package last weekend and our expectations were far exceeded! Sensationally good 5-course menu, perfect service, personal attention during wine tasting and the quality of the wines is 1a anyway - absolutely try the Priccobello and the Herak!

Amazing Wine tasting and tour

We were lucky enough to sample their wine in a restaurant in Vienna and immediately searched for their location. It was less than an hour drive so we decided the next day to head up. Being a Sunday and winter time we were taking our chances. Fortunately upon arrival I was able to reach the owners via Facebook Messenger. Our intention was to buy a case of wine and be on our way. They were kind enough to meet us at the winery within a few minutes notice. They gave us a tour of the winery, restaurant and on to The Tasting Room. We weren't rushed at all and were able to enjoy several wine samples. The wines were fantastic and the setting beautiful. We would highly recommend going out there for an afternoon. We are planning to return next month to stay overnight and enjoy the restaurant as well. Oh and don't forget to try the chocolate Brandy.....OMG

Cardboard Walls?

This overall nicely done property could be a great place if the rooms had real walls!
Unfortunately, someone forgot to sound-proof the rooms. Thus you may think the people next door are mistakenly entering your room when they return from dinner and you will know exactly when they get up, take a shower, what TV-program they watch and what they are up to once the lights are out...
Otherwise the owner family offers an excellent, friendly and helpful service all around, a good kitchen, interesting wines (both for pairing dinners and tasting) in a lovely location!

Not so nice

Service nett und bemüht - Speise gut - abserviert wird sehr schnell ABER leider muss man 30 Minuten mit leerem Glas warten und kann weder weitere Getränke bestellen, noch zahlen.
Mich sieht dieses Lokal nicht mehr.

Ein glücklicher Zufall.

Bei einer Tagesreise mit Freunden durch das schöne Niederösterreich kamen wir nach Mailberg.
Dabei sah ich den großen Hinweis von einem Weingut namens Hagn.
Interessiert durch die Namensgleichheit fuhren wir auf den Parkplatz des sehr ansehnlichen und gepflegten Weingutes.
Ich habe den falschen Tag gewählt, denn das Hotel hatte heute Ruhetag.
Eine freundliche Dame mit einem Reinigungsgerät in der Hand kam uns entgegen und fragte, kann ich etwas für sie tun?
Entschuldigten Sie, ich wollte gerne ihre Weine probieren, habe aber nicht beachtet dass das Haus heute Ruhetag hat.
Das ist kein Problem sagte sie, kommen sie bitte mit, gerne können Sie eine Weinprobe machen.
Eigentlich bin ich überwiegend Weißweittrinker, bei der Weinprobe habe ich auch den blauen Zweigelt probiert und davon einen Karton mitgenommen.
Jetzt habe ich ein Problem, denn der Blau Zweigelt ist hervorragend und ich werde in Zukunft ein Regal für Rotweine freimachen.
Wir werden nach der Pandemie wieder kommen und dann für einige Tage in dem wunderschönen Hotel den Mittelpunkt für eine Österreichrundreise buchen.
Wie wir bei der Weinprobe und dem freundlichen Gespräch erfuhren, die freundliche Dame war Frau Hagn, die Chefin des Weingutes selbst.
