Stayed there during COVID-19 great experience
Everything went very well. From booking, to check out everything about this experience was positive. The staff was adorable and bent over backwards to make our stay as comfortable as possible, waiting for our PCR test. Food was a la carte and really nice. Thank you, will stay again.

Dirty rooms with bugs all over
Unfortunately, I can not recommend this hotel even though it has a good location in town.
The rooms were not clean when we checked in - with remains still in the toilet and floors not cleaned. We had to ask for towels to be brought later the day. At night bugs were crawling in the bed and up the mosquito net.
The room was cleaned the next day, but other issues remained. The personal at the reception was aware of the issues but only little helpful.
The breakfast was ok with freshly made omelets, but only sweet option for the bread.
All in all, I would not book here again, even though the price was tempting in the first place.

Good facilities. Good location. Great restaurant which was airy and good simple food. Clean airy room, but could’ve been cleaner. The balcony was a definite bonus. Value for money. The staff were helpful. Pool was quite dirty so didn’t use.

Heartless Hotel
I never got to hotel because I developed covid on the day I was meant to go. I'm a pensioner and I have c had a life changing stroke. I had saved for a 1 night stay in St andrews as a treat for my granddaughter who travelled from Brighton especially especially for this trip for her birthday and to celebrate her pregnancy. I phoned hotel to tell them I had covid and thought they would give me my money back even though it was non refundable. I thought the hotel under the circumstances would refund my money. The manager refused showed no discretion for the circumstances and definitely no empathy . We were very dissaoointed t hat we had to cancel the trip but had to be honest as we didn't want to infect staff or other residents. If the manager showed no sympathy for the circumstances and used their discretion and refunded my money it shows what kind of company the hotel is run by, heartless management and only interested in money not their guests. The room was vacant and at a time when they could have charged a lot of money. It was near the time that the golf was on and room's would be easily let... again so not only did they get my money for nothing they also had a spare room which they could let out. I would not ever go to book that place again because if that's the sample of management they have what hope for a caring staff who thinks about the customer

3 stars for quality but deserves 10 stars for service
I attended a December conference in Kigali and had to book a hotel through the conference website. Unfortunately, my first, second and third choices were all already booked. I booked at Gorillas Golf resort but after my booking i was notified that due to limited capacity i woudl be moved to Gorillas City Centre- the sister hotel. It was definitely a less expensive hotel and on my arrival, at first did not seem like much. It was small, simple and the room was very basic. No fan or AC but luckily it was not too hot. Food options were limited and I had to change rooms because there was no work space in the first room (the TV had been placed on the desk) Electric outlets are also positioned oddly. Bring an extension cord!
However, despite the shortcomings of the hotel room and amenities, I have to give at 4 stars to the staff who were prompt, polite and always helpful. The hotel is managed very well and I would rather stay in a simple hotel with good staff than vice versa
