Bad experience ever

I have never felt so unwelcome at a hotel in my life.
I visited Gorilla Golf Hotel intending to spend some quiet time by the pool while writing. When I arrived, receptionist simply told me to go to the pool. Once there, there was no staff member to greet me, no one to explain how service worked, and no one came to attend to me. The tables weren't even properly prepared. I had to wipe my own table before sitting down.
I waited for approximately 40 minutes without a single person coming to take my order or even acknowledge that I was there.
I eventually walked back to reception to ask if the pool restaurant was operating. Instead of apologizing or trying to help, I was told they only had two servers because they were busy with a dinner event. When I asked whether I would still be served, the receptionist actually suggested that I leave because they didn't have enough staff.
What happened next made the experience even worse. While we were still talking, another group of guests arrived. The receptionist immediately stopped assisting me and turned his full attention to them without even saying, "Excuse me, I'll be right back." I stood there for several minutes waiting, completely ignored, until I realized my time simply didn't matter.
Being busy is understandable. Ignoring a guest is not. Telling a paying customer to leave instead of offering an apology, an estimated waiting time, or any alternative is unacceptable hospitality.
I left without being served, without receiving a single apology, and feeling as though my presence didn't matter. I've visited many restaurants and hotels in Rwanda, and this is, without question, the poorest customer service I have ever experienced.
I hope management takes this seriously because no guest should ever be treated this way.

Gorilla Golf Hotel -- Missed an opportunity
This hotel is in Kigali, Rwanda- a progressive and trending tourist destination in Africa. We were a very large group, so we expected a little learning curve. And yet, we had friends that stayed at other brand hotels in Kigali and had a magnificent experience. So this review is very specific to our experience at the Gorilla Golf.
Pros: Restaurant had good food and service (service slow, but they work hard)
Location, good location. the hotel is near to banking, restaurants, shopping, taxis, etc. Price: good price, but we still had better expectations.
Cons: No hot water for 6 of the 8 days we stayed there. When the room attendants clean your room they leave doors and patio enclosures open ( I guess because of chemicals) but then the mosquitos fly in. We whacked about 10 in one night.
Front desk slow and check-out brutal (it took over 30 minutes to check out). Review your bill carefully as several of us experienced errors in the billing, rates and charges. Room keys had to be activated daily. Front desk management not helpful or concerned about patrons' issues. We expressed our hot water issue several times and not once did a manager check on our condition nor follow-up as to whether it was resolved (and it never was resolved). The Gorilla chain is unresponsive. I sent an email to corporate office and never heard back from them.
I cannot recommend any Gorilla brand hotel, especially since there are several customer-friendly options in the beautiful city of Kigali in the fabulous country of Rwanda! Please visit Rwanda!!!
