Anything but Standard.
I travel for work quite a bit, so I’ve stayed in my fair share of hotels. It’s not often that a standard room makes me stop and think, “I’d happily stay here again,” but this one did.
The room was beautiful, exceptionally clean, and thoughtfully maintained. Even the standard accommodations felt comfortable, inviting, and well-designed. Proof that you don’t need a suite to have a great stay.
As someone traveling for business, I also have to give a shoutout to the complimentary guest laundry. After hand-washing my work slacks, being able to toss them in the dryer was an absolute chef’s kiss. It’s one of those thoughtful amenities you don’t realize you’ll appreciate until you need it.
What really sets this hotel apart, though, is the staff. Every interaction was friendly, the welcome from Caesar to the staff I interacted with but I especially want to recognize Adrian at the front desk. Adrian went above and beyond with recommendations, local information, and genuinely helpful advice that made navigating the area so much easier. It’s rare to come across someone who is not only knowledgeable but also clearly enjoys helping guests. That level of service makes a lasting impression. Top notch, evening front desk crew.
If I had one “complaint,” it’s that this hotel may have raised my expectations for every work trip going forward. Outstanding hospitality, beautiful accommodations, thoughtful amenities, and a team that truly cares about the guest experience. I highly recommend staying here and will gladly return the next time I’m in town.
P.S. besides the nespresso machines in the rooms, go downstairs for your coffee, latte, cappuccino etc. and check out the common room setup. Conference rooms too!

Felt More Like a Dorm Than a Hotel
Stayed at the Club Quarters Hotel Central Loop.
The location is definitely the main advantage and convenient for exploring downtown Chicago and close to the Loop area.
Check-in, however, felt unnecessarily frustrating. Even though staff were standing at the front desk, guests were directed to use the self check-in kiosks instead. Staff did assist with the process, but it honestly felt slower and less welcoming than simply checking guests in directly.
The lobby itself is decent with a sitting area, water station, and an attached bar which adds some life to the property.
The room was the biggest disappointment. Very small and basic for the price point, with a dated, almost dorm-like bathroom that felt retro in the wrong way. The overall space felt cramped and not particularly comfortable for spending time in. It became more of a place to sleep after being out all day rather than somewhere you actually wanted to relax.
Overall, acceptable if location is your priority, but the rooms and overall experience did not justify the rate.

Thank you for your feedback. I apologize that your experience was less than expected. That is not our intent. We are an older hotel and strive to ensure we are clean and have friendly staff. I do hope you will give us another try in the future.

Great place to stay
May I tell you!? We very much enjoyed our stay at Chicago Loop Hotel! This is where we’ll be next Spring.
Lashawn, the front desk person, offered to show me how to use their check-in kiosk. While I was struggling with dragging out my credit card (of course, it had worked its way to the bottom of my luggage), Lashawn said we were all set. He had already completed my pre-book and handed us our key cards. What a relief! We were hot and tired… and suddenly, relieved. Lashawn’s aim was to just ease our way.
We then discovered that our room was not very cool, so… within 5 minutes of our request to have it checked, a Maintenance gentleman discovered the problem and resolved it instantly - it was simply a wireless connectivity issue where the sensor had fallen behind the wooden trim. Still hot and tired, we were again relieved. Within minutes, we were cooling down. I wish I had taken the gentleman’s name - very kind and hospitable.
We walked maybe 3 blocks to the El from the hotel. Our Lyft driver and taxis have space at the doorstep, should you want to explore where the trains don’t reach.
The lobby restaurant - The Elephant and Castle - a British sports pub, was so terrific, we had 3 excellent meals there, plus a nightcap after exploring the city! Another time, we’ll discover the Chicago hot dog or pizza. I’ll run out of characters: the flight of pies and then dessert - order both and share bread pudding and brownie - yum. In Spring, we plan to have a meal or two on their patio so we can people-watch.

Decent hotel in a good location
Nice big room, that was well appointed except for no wardrobe or anything else to hang any clothes despite being plenty of space for something. Helpful staff. Pretty decent breakfast (a bit lacking in flavour) in the adjoining Elephant and Castle. Good location.

Disappointing, Frustrating, Costly experience
Old, funky hotel in what is now a rather rundown, abandoned area. Bed was fine; AC worked well. Nightstand on each side of bed. Young staff, one of whom was eager to help, but overwhelmed. No valet (tho it's advertised as such.) Parking lot is 2 blocks away. If all you want is a bed overnight, this is your place. I won't stay there again. When I brought concerns to the attention of staff (No valet as advertised; charged extra $36 for "bed and breakfast" at checkout, which I hadn't requested) they said to take it up with Booking.com. VERY disappointing, frustrating and costly experience.

We appreciate your time and effort in sharing your recent experience with us. We apologize about any third party website error in our parking services. We do not have valet as an option, however, we partner with a self-park garage, South Loop Garage, who offers our guests a rate of $28 for every 24 hours. It is 1 1/2 blocks behind us and it includes in and out privileges. In regards to the $36 payment, this was refunded as it was an error and we apologize about the inconvenience. We sure hope you give us a chance in the future.
