Would appreciate a more cheerful encounter at the desk. Not unpleasant, just not friendly or welcoming.

The room and bathroom were clean. The bar staff were friendly and helped us order food. The front desk staff were also friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. Very close to Union Train station and CTA.

Our room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our only issue was that the parking garage they suggested was not tall enough for our vehicle and the reception desk had no other suggestions for us. Since we are not familiar with the area we also had no idea of the options.

Great staff, comfortable and clean

TL;DR: Great hotel, definitely would stay here again!
Service: All the staff were really helpful and nice. I can't say enough good things about them. Special shoutout for Jasmarie at the front desk: I had arrived way earlier than check-in time before rooms were ready, so I decided to work in the lobby for a few hours. During those few hours, I peppered her with several questions and she was so nice about answering them all. Really appreciated her patience. Also a shoutout for the engineer to came to my room because I had issues with the HVAC. He went above and beyond to ensure my issue was addressed (checked things were ok on their side, then checked my room, then went back to check things on their side, then came back with a ladder to fix something, not sure what because I was on a call).
Room: Spacious, clean, and comfortable. My room looks like it was updated pretty recently, as the bathroom had new fixtures. Only "complaint" was water pressure in the shower was sad, and it took forever to fully wet my hair and rinse out the shampoo every time.
Location: Lots of restaurants around, coffee options, and a Van Leeuwen ice cream shop is right across the street! Super convenient.

It is a lovely hotel and we were going to join the rewards program for benefits of frequent visits until our luggage was stolen from an unattended front desk. Very disappointed!!!
