For families this hotel is amazing. We had 3 very spacious bedrooms 3 bathroom a living room 2 microwave and 2 fridges. A beach area.
Staff are very friendly and helpful . The shuttle to the beach or Duval is a great full addition.

Compromise- You Have To Take The Good With The Not So Good.
I've driven by this property several times but this was my first stay, and there are some good points, and there are some bad points- so it really depends on what is more important to you as to whether you choose to spend your time in Key West at this property or decide elsewhere.
Upon arrival we pull in and are greeted by the valets. I have to think hard about a more disorganized valet experience than what happened here. The arrival area is very, very small. I only wanted to check in and was heading out right away so the valet asked me to move, but where I moved, well he didn't like that so the area he directed me to park there was insufficient room to park my vehicle next to other vehicles which were actively unloading; so everyone would be in everyone else's way. At least where I left the car it was not in anyone's way. I don't know why they need required valet, the parking lot is right there. Later in the evening I returned and the valet parked the car.
The check in process is pretty efficient and the lobby is pretty nice. There are welcome drinks offered, a mango margarita or some such thing. A little sour for me but my travel companion liked them.
The room itself was oversized. We were downstairs and you enter through a common entrance into a foyer where there is a staircase which takes you upstairs to your room or straight into your downstairs room. You will know when your neighbor arrives because you will hear the foyer door and people talking and such going in or out, so rest assured they probably can hear you too.
The room was clean and in some ways quite impressive in appearance. Nice spacious shower and bathroom too. The doors opened up into a small sitting porch which looks into the sea oats. Sadly a lot of people seem to throw their trash into the sand and no one passes through the narrow strip of sand to clean it up.
We passed by the pool but it is quite under-impressive. It has the proportions of a backyard swimming pool and is far from a resort style pool, very basic. There is a tiki bar if you're so inclined. I did not imbibe in either.
I debated extending my stay into the next night due to needing to stay longer in the Keys, but I opted to check out and seek different lodgings, which I found quite easily. Someone I know stayed there because it is pet friendly, which could be persuasive if you want to bring your pets.
All in all, I don't think I will return to this property. It has a lot of potential, but needs some updating.

Secluded Tropical Oasis Resort
This was my family's second stay at Parrot Key and we already have a third trip booked for the winter. Being very hot and humid for this stay, we enjoyed the four pools and plenty of shade on the property. The 2-bed, 2-floor partial water view suite overlooking the salt channel is our favorite room with great views from the balcony and plenty of space. We also like the location of the resort, which is a few miles from Duval Street away from the noise and crowds, but easy to get there with the shuttle or Uber. The secluded, tropical oasis atmosphere of the resort is a great value for the price. We have stayed at other hotels in Key West with similar or higher rates which don't compare with the Parrot Key. The service is friendly and efficient with lots of workers on the property and it is very clean and well maintained.

This place leaves a lot to be desired. Lipstick on a pig. Overpriced for the amenities. Rooms are fine looking but not great. Staff really doesn’t excel at service. Amenity daily rate doesn’t make sense with what you get. Restaurant is abysmal.

The staff we very pleasant and helpful. You are close to several places to eat, and can walk to several shops and a Starbucks.. they have gold cart rental and you can go everywhere on the island in them.. truly a wonderful vacation!
