Lovely stay at Edgar Mansion!

Great location with comfortable rooms and friendly staff! The property was furnished beautifully and the view was amazing too. Friendly staff were a bonus!

Nice house with very nice staff but unfortunately bad location

Very nice house with absolutely nice and courteous staff. Also the owner is very friendly and likeable.
Dinner à la carte was excellent so our expectations for breakfast were relatively high. This, on the other hand, was very Spartan. Dine toast, butter, jam and the usual eggs. Coffee, tea. Not even juice. Alternatives have not been offered to us.
As we saw in hindsight, there are different options for breakfast when booking. Apparently, this was just continental. We weren't aware before. So watch what you book here.
Location very nice but absolutely impractical. Even the taxi drivers didn't know where to go when we wanted to get back to the hotel from the city in the evening. Running is definitely way too far.
Rooms have not been cleaned up during the day. We might have had to hand over the key for that. Nobody said that either.
As sorry as I am, despite the really outstanding friendliness of the staff, the overall package was unfortunately not right.

Elegant Edgar Mansion

Cavan and Charles are excellent hosts at Edgar mansion. We were a group of 10 friends who really enjoyed our stay. The photos don't do justice to the elegant and beautiful house. The location is lovely with the Pagala river nearby. Reggie is the chef who cooks up very tasty meals. His staff is very attentive and responsive. All of us had a great time. We highly recommend the Edgar mansion and will be back again!

GREAT PLACE TO COME BACK

Our stay in Edgar Mansion was fantastic. The service was fabulous and the food was excellent. We are in our honey moon and we enjoyed a lot of staying here. They had a lot of lovely details with us, as a romantic dinner with a candle and rose, the room decoration ... We can't be happier. Everybody was super nice, kind and polite with us. If we come back to Sri Lanka, we will visit Edgar Mansion again. Thank you for your hospitality!!
