Nice hotel near Istiklal Cd.

A very nice safe hotel near the Istiklal Cd. The room small but was very clean with high standart bed. The location allows to reach Taksim by foot.

2-star hotel

The hotel does not reach two stars. They first gave us a room on the sixth floor that looked more like a 2x2 matchbox. A “double” bed that was semi-double and almost touched the window on one side and the closet on the other, it didn't leave space for anything but one nightstand.
The room faced the street and you could hear everything, impossible to sleep.
The bathroom with the sealing silicone and the tile joints completely black.
Very dirty, old, and lacking maintenance.
We complained at the front desk and they gave us another room on the third floor, it was better, it was larger and had a coffee maker (check it well before using it, because ours was dirty) and two bottles of water that the other one didn't (every day they left us two bottles, this was very good).
The bathroom was a little more spacious, but with the same maintenance problems.
The lights in the room are very soft, I suppose so that all the flaws and dirt are not noticeable.
In this one we were able to sleep at least...
The Turkish bath and sauna... another disaster... we went down one day and there was no staff attending. We asked for towels at the front desk and they didn't know where they were; in the end, they gave us one that we don't know where they got it from, but it didn't smell good at all.
The sauna fulfills its function, but the Turkish bath was not working and had all the lights off.
The breakfast is fine, although it does not vary from one day to the next.
The Wi-Fi is also very good.
The location is excellent, the subway is a few meters away, and there are many restaurants and bars in the area. It is close to the Galata Tower and the main shopping street.

Very bad experience

The hotel is old, not very clean, and needs renovation. The rooms are poorly lit and feel dark and gloomy. We booked a double room for a couple, but we were given two single beds pushed together instead of a proper double bed. The only good thing is the location, which is close to everything. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel. Lovely staff

The staff. Rohullah on reception was there to greet us when we arrived and was still there when we left 4 days later. Rohullah always very friendly and chatty when we passed through reception. We did not need any help but it was reassuring to know he was there to assist if required. The rooms vary in size but ours was quite large. The shower was hot and powerful. Heating was very much appreciated as it was very cold in February.
Breakfast had a good choice.
Location of the hotel is excellent. It is in Taksim which has modern shops and restaurants. We are both in our 60s but even for us the walk to the old town and across the river to the Blue Mosque was relatively easy. Rohullah said he would not consider walking and would have used the metro. We prefer walking as you miss a lot otherwise. We were on a stop over with Turkish Airlines. Istanbul is definitely worth a visit.
