Disappointing but still good value.
The staff in this hotel are excellent. We were given a room normally reserved for disabled people as it was free. Big spacious room with a fabulous walk in shower. Despite the weather being awful the room was always warm. The bed was a little soft for my liking and possibly needed an extra pillow. However it was clean and the water was always hot.
Great to have a fridge in the room.
I've stayed here a few times and never been disappointed. However this time If you want a room clean and a change of bedclothes and towels you have to request it before 11am on the day. We did so about 9am after our second night. We were told that it would be done at about 11am, so we made a point of leaving the room before then and earlier than we had planned. Unfortunately when we got back in the early evening our room hadn't been touched. I had to go to reception and ask for clean towels. The staff were lovely and happy to oblige but disappointing that their cleaners had apparently ignored the request.
Also the quality of the breakfast has certainly declined since my last visit. Very poor quality sausages and bacon, and a lot less choice for the continental.
If it hadn't have been for the two issues mentioned I would have given it a much higher star rating.

It is a basic hotel, it is let down by homeless inside and outside the property. My door was also showing damaged and combined with the above, security was a worry. However I did not suffer any problem, it was just a niggling worry with the image you are presented with on arrival. The location is central and good.

Prettt average hotel, not a great smell in reception, not air conditioned and a lot of noise at night. Someone was vacuuming late. Not worth the money, it was pretty expensive for what you got.

Okay, but it could have been cleaner, the breakfast was alright, but not much to choose from - the bacon was good. On our second morning it was a bit more people at breakfast and it became chaos - running out of mugs, plates as well as food.
It was very humid inside the hallways as well as the room and windows needed to be open all the time. There was nowhere to hang off coats. Only bath towels, no hand towels. The room felt very austere and bare.
One could hear everything from the hallway, which very much affected the quality of sleep.

The hotel has clearly been neglected for a long while and has recently changed owners. While the room was clean, it was dark, devoid of personality or decor (but for a weird crypto-bro style painting) and worn down. The hot water was unreliable. I think they should have kept it shut while doing a full refurbishment, even if they missed high season because I suspect they sadly might not survive the reviews.
On the flip-side, the location is great (maybe a bit dark on the lower-floor rooms), the workers are attentive, professional and friendly, and the breakfast was basic but decent.
