Ideal for a quick and simple city break!

With the check in process being completely electronic and parking available it was very quick and easy to get started with our stay.
The apartment building itself seemed very secure and private. You are a 15 minute walk from the city centre, so the city was accessible but the apartment location was relatively secluded in comparison.
The apartment was a lot bigger than expected and extremely clean. Couldn’t hear any noise from other rooms and the temperature at night was perfect (not too hot) even though we were on the second floor.
Had no issues with the electronic key and would highly recommend a stay here.

Terrible place to stay and appalling customer service.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a booking.com reservation. We arrived at about 830pm and had not received entry instructions. The phone number supplied was for a security company who had no knowledge of our booking. After emailing them our emailed booking confirmation they passed this on to the property owners who had lost our booking. They had a spare alternate apartment, not the one we booked. It was in the basement, had a terrible drain smell, was dark and dingy. We had no wifi password or instructions on how to use appliances. The shower flooded the bathroom causing a dangerous slip hazard.
We have attempted to email and call the property owners. Yesterday they told me that our booking was via Expedia and that they had emailed instructions to an email address that is not mine, nor ever has been.
Booking.com have not been helpful as it is a partner booking. Be wary of booking a partner booking as booking.com do not assist.

Poor attitude to gas safety

After a long journey, I arrived one evening and immediately noticed a very strong smell of gas in entrance and hallway. I rang the contact line and was put through to an out of hours security guard. He contacted the emergency contact for me and then I called him back for an update. I was told that it can wait until tomorrow.
I was worried as the smell was so strong so I called out South West Utilities emergency line and had a few calls with them. They arrived and after some reluctance over the phone, Beech House contact gave them the access code for the gas room next to the entrance where the smell was coming from. The gas engineer spent several hours identifying many leaks coming out of the gas meters in there.
Alarmed at the following:
- Lazy and irresponsible dangerous attitude to want to leave something like a gas smell until a day later
- The fact the maintenance hadnt been carried out to prevent leaks in the gas meters
- The fact that noone bothered to attend in person when they knew gas engineer utilities were on site
- The fact that I put this in their feedback and noone bothered to respond
- I spent most of my evening dealing with this
I will never stay here again.

Lovely Comfortable Georgian Style Rooms but Problems with Heating and Staff Transparency

The rooms' mix of contemporary and Georgian styles is very tasteful, and the kitchen area is clean and modern. The Clifton area is also very nice, and the Clifton Suspension Bridge is within walking distance. The number 8 bus from Temple Meads Railway Station will take you within a five-minute walk of the property.
The only problem I had was with the heating, which was the same problem I had the last time I stayed. The radiators did not come on even though it was -2 outside. I telephoned a lady from Urban Apartments and she came out and saw that the radiators were not working and brought a portable heater to the room which was not powerful enough to heat a large room. I must say that this same lady seemed a little argumentative over the telephone bearing in mind she was dealing with paying customers. When I made a complaint regarding the matter upon returning home, a representative from Urban Apartments mitigated that no compensation was merited because I was offered a change of room. This was not the case, The lady that came out made it clear that the option of a change of room was only warranted if a portable heater could not be found. Urban Apartments also said the problem was with the thermostat that needed turning up However, the lady who came out never mentioned a thermostat even though I directed her to a cupboard by the door where there were switches. She maintained that all the switches were fine. Note: other reviewers on Booking.com have detailed the heating problem at the property

Spacious and comfortable apartment

We stayed in a spacious 1!bed apartment on the ground floor. The apartment has everything you need for a short break. It is beautifully decorated and furnished in keeping with the age of the building and is very comfortable. Tea, coffee and milk we provided. Entry to the building and the apartment is via an app on your phone so there is no need for a reception desk. Parking is at an extra cost and ours was off site but only across the road. The only downside that we encountered was that we could hear the people above walking around. We would definitely stay again.
