Wedding experience
We had the most amazing experience at The Belfray Country Inn for my mum’s wedding. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect, and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue to celebrate such a special day.
The food was absolutely amazing, and all of the staff were so kind, welcoming and attentive. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the whole team went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly.
A special thank you to Jason, the owner, who was incredibly helpful and welcoming throughout and genuinely couldn’t have done enough for us. We’d also like to thank Geraldine, the wedding coordinator, who was absolutely fantastic and made everything feel so easy and stress-free. Matt at reception was also so friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
We stayed at the hotel the night before the wedding too, and once again, nothing was a problem. The rooms were lovely, and the staff even arranged a special breakfast for us with Prosecco the morning of the wedding, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the whole experience even more special.
A huge thank you to everyone at The Belfray for making my mum’s wedding so special and memorable. The food, service and attention to detail were all fantastic, and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for more. We would highly recommend The Belfray for anyone looking for a wedding venue — the whole team were incredible! ❤️

Our wedding day
We honestly cannot thank the Belfray Country Inn enough for making our wedding day so incredibly special.
From start to finish, everything was perfect. The food was absolutely amazing. So many of our guests commented on how delicious it was, and it really was one of the highlights of the day.
A huge thank you to Jason, the new owner, who has such incredible attention to detail. Nothing was ever a problem, and he genuinely went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. You can really see how much he cares about the hotel and his guests.
Jason and the whole team made our wedding feel so personal and special, rather than just another wedding. We felt so looked after throughout the entire day.
A massive shout-out to Geraldine, who is absolutely fabulous at what she does. She was amazing from beginning to end and made everything feel so easy and stress-free. She is a real credit to the Belfray.
And another big shout-out to Sean, who was also fantastic and played such a big part in making our day run so smoothly.
We couldn’t have asked for a better team to look after us on such an important day. We will always have such happy memories of our wedding at the Belfray and would 100% recommend it to anyone planning their wedding.

Avoid if there is a wedding ...
Beyond the usual problems in a hotel that is not really maintained: bathroom door impossible to close for example. There is also the lack of curtains at the window which leaves the room almost in full daylight late at night and very early in the morning.
I add the meager and sad breakfast.
BUT IF there is also a wedding then do not expect to sleep.
After reporting to the staff that we could hear the music in the room, they swore to us that it was not the case. In any case, they stopped around 10 PM at the latest around 11 PM. Naively, we believed them. While at 3 AM it continued, especially since the participants came to smoke, talk loudly, and sing under our windows (room 115)
The value for money is really poor when considering the 3 short hours of sleep.

A Fair Hotel
This is a fair hotel. However I feel like the current TripAdvisor score (4.8) is very generous. It has a nice traditional decor, plenty of parking outside and was clean. However it could do with a revamp in some areas to truly combine modernity and tradition. The shower in our room was terrible. 2 days it was cold and wouldn't warm at all, on the last day it was hot but had no pressure. The bathroom could do with a revamp, the floorboards are creeky and plug sockets are in inconvenient places that aren't near the beds. We went down to the bar to watch the World Cup only to be told that they 'don't really show sports' which I thought was odd for a Hotel bar. Otherwise all was fine.

Passable but needs refining
Bedroom was very warm even with all the windows wide open, bed was comfortable. Music was to loud in both the restaurant and breakfast room. No hot water on the 2nd morning. Tv in the room was poor. Did not think that it was good value for money
