Perfect for a one night stay

This was are first stop off before starting the NC500. Easy enough access to the property and very secure. There is some parking out the back, and this is on a first-come-first-served basis.
We stayed in Room 6 on the first floor. Access to the room was very secure, and the room was exceptionally clean, with large double bed, ensuite and a fridge !
Within the property there is also a large shared kitchen and separate sitting room.
There are just two minor points to make:
The reception on the television wasn't very good.
And the whilst the jungle showerhead worked, we couldn't get the detachable handheld to work.
Perfectly situated to join the A9 for the start of the NC500, and with a very comfortable walk into town.
Watch crossing over pedestrian Ness Bridge - it's got a big wobble.

Beware self check-in

Room itself is clean and it’s a nice bonus to have a small fridge in room. This lodging is across the river from the main part of town, so not as convenient to train, bus, restaurants and shops. My main complaint is that I received NO message from the hotelier regarding a code for self check in.
This made for an anxiety producing hour as I tried to call the owner with no luck. I ended up having to walk to a different hotel down the street, asking them to call the Winmar for me to access information for entry to the lodging. I didn’t feel comfortable not having a host on site.

ok for short stay

Close to Inverness station on the west side of the river. Easily accessible to town centre. Large Tesco just a few streets south. The hotel is not attended so they will send you a code to have access to the hotel and your room. Shared kitchen available. Very quiet location good to rest.

Good choice for a few nights

An ideal guest house to spend a few nights in Inverness: rooms of sufficient size, with built-in bathroom, a good bed; with carport for 4 cars behind. A 12-minute walk from downtown - across the river; which, even when it rains, is a pleasant walk - and with everything you need at hand. Ideal.
