Lovely stay in the heart of Keswick all amenities right on the doorstep

Exceptional staff, always attentive and helpful
Great location right in the heart of Keswick
Good value for money food
As in all older buildings rooms / decor can be a bit quirky Would highly recommended

Room 8 and room 3 filthy rooms

Central hotel- no parking. But there is payable parking nearby. Check in was good. Food was good. One polite member of staff at reception. One polite waitress.
One member of staff extremely rude, Both ours rooms 4 & 3 were filthy. Black mould are dirty. Asked for the bathroom to be cleaned on arrival the girl beginning with S was helpful and pleasant. She apologised and said they would do and clearly didn’t. Went to speak to another lady and her attitude was rude, saying it was the shower door silcone that needed replaced. It was clearly more than that from the images, the dust on skirting boards, the chair was filthy, under beds had bottle tops so beds were never moved. I said to the girl with the darker hair up we wouldn’t be back to stay in hotel dirty. Her response was “that’s fine then” never experienced such a rude member of staff. If that’s how your speak to guests she needs some customer service training. We won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend.

Weekend stay

Lovely hotel, Great location and a really nice gesture of a card and a bottle for anniversary stay on arrival would stop again
One more thing watched the England v Norway Game in the Hotel bar and a great win for England

Nice

Stayed here for one night with my hubby and our dog, really welcoming place!
Room was comfortable, huge bed and massive bathroom too. Lovely big towels which are always a bonus.
Decor is dated and could with modernising but that’s just being picky.
Sat in the bar in the afternoon as it was 31° and too hot to walk anywhere, you can order from our table too.
Unfortunately the evening meal was a disappointment, I ordered a house salad with prawns and when it came I was really let down, four of the ingredients missing completely and the prawns weren’t the best, I ‘ complained’ and ultimately we got a 14% (£8) discount off our food bill.
Hubby’s meal was absolutely fine.
No apology either ‍♀️
Other than that it’s lovely, central, easy access to the town centre and all shops and pubs.
We will stay again, just won’t order the salad

centrally located, friendly staff but only public parking 500 yds away & my bathroom needs a refurb!

Very handy. & centrally located for the town, but only (good) public parking 500yds away (costing £12.40 per 24hrs). The staff were great & friendly, a lovely 'old pub' atmosphere, good food and service. Price was a little high for what you get - but not a rip-off. My bathroom needs a complete refurb, very worn & not good enough really. Shame because the towel are new, soft, fluffy ones and changed every day. They did have the plumbers in working on the central heating, so I suggest they keep them on and replace my bathroom suite as well. And the bedroom itself was clean, well furnished & comfortable although the room above had very squeaky floorboards when the occupant walked up & down the, constantly at 6am!
