With an elegant Jacobean Great Hall, this resort a features a leisure centre and traditional restaurant. Thurnham Hall Resort is a 12th-century country estate, set in nearly 30 acres of grounds in scenic Lancashire.

Mint !!
Hotel grounds: Mint.

Normally, staying in places this posh makes you feel like you’re walking on eggshells—especially with kids in tow—and you get that slight “are you sure you belong here?” vibe. This was the exact opposite! Absolutely unbelievable how warm and welcoming everyone was.
A massive shoutout to Rhianna who greeted us and made us feel right at home straight away. Couldn’t recommend this place enough to families looking for a spot-on, peaceful getaway. 10/10!

Signage and better advise for electric car visitors
I think the property needs to re train the reception staff further in a number of ways.
I have an electric car and whilst being kind,the young lady doesn’t know what you’re offering.
Is it a 3 pin charger or a type 2
At one pound eighty per hour it makes a big difference.
Also she didn’t know if it was tethered or bring one of two different chargers.(which one?)
Upon check in we were given crude map that showed our accommodation
Whilst that is great,the instructions are to carry on till you see apartment 56
Whilst driving you are ok to see the numbers until the late forties.
Then the numbers become non existent.
I passed our accommodation because it was not signed and continued as requested.
Once you do travel further the road quickly becomes a four foot walkway
You cannot turn or reverse and the rocks and bushes become impassible
I proceeded as told and that caused a lot of damage to my car ( about £450 to put back right)
Please advise customers to stop.
I later visited the spa facilities and was asked how things were going with the visit.(very professional)
I mentioned the damage to my car and was told that it has happened on several occasions.
Surely knowing this issue you should protect your customers cars.
The second problem which was out of your control we had no water to wash, shower or cook.
It went off pre 6.00 am and did not come back before 10.00am checkout.
I do hope you are not requesting compensation for any business losses as nothing was offered to us .

A wonderful break.
Last weekend we spent a wonderful 2 day break at this delightful Hall. I care for my 93 year old dad but managed to get cover to allow us to go away for my husband's birthday. The estate is just wonderful ; relaxing and quiet grounds where we sat with a bottle of wine and chilled out. The swimming pool is a lovely temperature and the apartments was clean, roomy and so atmospheric.
We will definitely be returning.!

The apartment was spacious and overall clean. Excellent sleeping mattress - we are buying one for us for home. Only the balcony was messy. Hotel on beautiful grounds and staff in the restaurant and spa were very friendly and helpful. Location is great, very close to Lancaster city, easy access by Uber. Definitely would come back.

It’s a hugely impressive place to stay, with a grand sweeping drive and your large country estate for the weekend. Most of the accommodation is not in the main aesthetically pleasing historic hall but in some sympathetically attractive flats and studio apartments on the estate. The pool is decent the sauna for some reason was far too cool at 60 degrees i hope this was a one-off! The gym is tiny but with a good range of dumbbells and a cable machine I was able to do a good strength session. They don’t do breakfast but the nearby pub the stork is great value! Overall would definitely go again. The prices are competitive!
