Great location for visit to the Shard.

Bankside House is definitely Student accommodation, having said that the rooms were clean and tidy, Shower was excellent water very hot. The staff were friendly and informative. The breakfast was Everything you could ask for any nationality.
Small kitchens on each floor for clean drinking water but our key did not open the door on level 7. That would be the only downside for us. Very near to Borough Market and London Bridge underground. Will definitely use this B and B again.

Just about ‘average’!

If this review was based solely on price for location then the LSE Bankside would receive a 5 star rating. Unfortunately, this is not the case. This is a satisfactory LSE (Passfield and Rosebery better) in a good location - a ten minute walk from London Bridge Station and adjacent to Tate Modern. My room was basic as expected but as there was no air conditioning (expected) it was extremely difficult to sleep as the temperature exceeded 30 degrees. Reception did provide an electric fan.
Breakfast was satisfactory (Rosebery much better) and the room was so large that every time I topped up my coffee all my other food was tidied away. My toilet also didn’t flush - good job I was only staying for one night!
It’s going to be Passfield Hall next time!

Basic but very clean accommodation in excellent location for many of the major tourist spots. The towels were surprisingly white and fluffy and daily housekeeping was unexpected as were hangers in the wardrobe. Our room was at the back of the building and we found this to be noisy throughout the night making sleeping quite difficult even with the windows closed. We slept better on our second night and even managed to leave the windows open until 04:30 but maybe bring earplugs if a light sleeper. A large fridge in a shared kitchen was available to use as was a microwave but the oven and hob were disconnected. The big plus for this place is the breakfast which really set us up for the day as there was so much choice with hot/cold/vegan options including fresh fruit, porridge, scrambled/fried/boiled eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, pork/chicken sausage, baked beans, croissants, pain au chocolat, cold meats, cheese, salad and choice of yoghurts. Parking was also available although we didn’t need it. We would certainly consider staying here again when visiting London.

A great overnight stay. First time here - recommended by friends.
I had a problem with my kettle, which affected the electric sockets. Even though this was late at night the staff quickly came to help andxwere polite and efficient.
Breakfast is amazing (as I had been told) and be prepared to queue unless you get there very early. Wish I could return but booked up when I want to come !

Great location, cosy rooms, friendly staff and very good breakfast!
Just a couple of minutes from Tate Modern and Bankside river front.
Amazing view of The Shard from my room .
