Good food and great prices
Popped in unplanned on our route home and ended up deciding to eat there. Food was excellent, and the prices were very good, Something that is hard to find these days.

awful customer service
appalling service from the staff, they were rude and obnoxious the manager was moody and so uninviting to the pub and i would never be going back again same for the 8 other people i was with. i would save your time and not bother going it was a waste of time!

Abysmal, filthy, depressing
Was meant to stay for 4 nights whilst my daughter attended a course in Woking. Had chosen it because it was a short train trip into the town centre. There are NO redeeming features about this place, unless you include the fact that they don't argue over refunds because the management seem well aware of the disgusting state of the rooms and isn't too fussed.
Arrived in the room to find it had not been cleaned, apart from fresh sheets the rest of the room was grubby and scruffy. Food, greasy hand marks, coffee splashes, urine stains, grimy windows... I could go on.
There was a small ensuite which was filthy. Why I did not simply leave there and then I do not know!
I went down to the only member of staff who was in the bar, asked them to come and clean the room, was told no one available but the cleaner would be informed for tomorrow...
I cleaned the room myself, including the disgusting ensuite as I wasn't sure whether I could find alternative rooms I could afford after just having paid £280 for the 4 days.
Later had an overpriced and fairly horrible meal in the bar, which is nothing like it looks in the photos. The whole place is grimy and in a state of disrepair.
Overnight the noise made it impossible to sleep, from both the pub itself, the station over the road, people shouting in the street and other residents in the rooms wandering about well into the early hours talking loudly on speakerphone and crashing around in the kitchen at all hours through til around 4am.
The shared kitchen was very dirty, I wanted to put food in the fridge but had to clean it first before even touching the door.
2nd night even worse (we wondered if the first night was just bad luck but no!)
By 3am I had booked us into a Youth Hostel near Dorking and we were packing up ou9r stuff.
I have no idea why this place is marketing itself as a hotel, it is in need of a massive, industrial scale, deep clean and upstairs in need of renovation too.
Clearly running on the business model of take people's money and see how much is left once guests have asked for their refund.
After I complained through Booking.com, we were offered a £70 refund, but I had to go into the pub to get the refund!
Despite not wanting to set foot in the place again I made myself go and asked for a refund for both the nights we didn't use, which they agreed to do.
I should have been offered a full refund as we had no sleep, the room was vile and I did a good 2 hour clean to make it even vaguely habitable.The stink still lingers on our belongings!
DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE!!!

Byfleeting visit
First thing I noticed was the location of the pub/Hotel. Station into London is literally over the road which is very convenient.
We stayed here to go to Thorpe park which wasn't too far away (about 20-30mins drive)
A nice park over the road.
Not much in the way of parking though from what I could see.
The inside was nicely laid out. The staff member was extremely friendly and helpful (sorry can't remember your name) young lady in 20s possibly.
Anyway, hospitality was great on check Inn.
Room was massive and could have accommodated a family and had an extra bed. Big wardrobes, coffee, tea etc. Bathroom was smallish and not a very big shower for the larger person. Beds were comfy, towels provided were good though a little small. Needed some larger towels.
Food was nice if a little Hugh in price but this is London so you expect to pay a little more. Nice chips very chunky.
Staff on the later shift were nice. Young guy very pleasant however one lady. Shall we say a little over middle age didn't come across very well and seemed a little rushed off her feet and very stoic. Polite but did not seem to want to interact. This let the otherwise pleasant experience down.
Overall a nice stay apart from the above. Would stay again for the convenience but would have to check out nearer places to Thorpe.

Best Lasagne
This establishment has a scruffy charm, some would modernise but it is a comfortable and roomy place. Friends speak highly of the new chef. We had an enjoyable lunch , large prtions and nicely cooked .Good value. Can be noisy.
