Wonderful & Quirky

Truly wonderful and customer focused staff, always ready to help with a smile whatever the request. The hotel itself is very ornate and quirky - lots of big traditional carved furniture, fish ponds, big mirrors - I loved it! Everywhere is spotlessly clean. We had a room overlooking the lake - the bed was huge and comfortable and, whilst the bathroom was a small 'wet room' design, the shower worked great and the water was always hot. The road out front is busy, but we were never disturbed by any street noise. Located away from the madness of the old quarter, but plenty of lovely bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Great value for money and I would stay again if I returned to Hanoi.

No lift to the 3rd floor where our room was. Room had all items listed as per Trip .com .

Hotel of thieves

Terrible experience with the hotel. Hotel staff are thief they stole our 900 USD from our room and they have no explanation that when they didn’t do housecleaning work during our three day stay than why they entered in our room in our absence. They have some arrangement with the local police so they haven’t no fear of local police.Worst place on earth.

Overnight

Reading the ad while looking for a hotel near the airport, it said a welcome drink will be given. No such thing happened. The room was adécuate, the tv didn’t work, my window view was a wall of another hotel. The bathroom is in need of maintenance, there was a leak on the pipe for the shower.
The room was clean, the front desk clerk was efficient and some what friendly.
The service in the restaurant was ok, however the fried noodles with seafood was not, it lacked flavor and the squid was impossible to eat. The squid was extremely hard, I couldn’t eat it and didn’t eat it. I was afraid of breaking a tooth. The shrimp was well cooked and tender, the portion was good as the amount of vegetables in the dish.
Yes the hotel was very convenient for its location, the price was good.
I just wouldn’t stay there again.
I realize I am brutally honest, I believe management should live up to the as posted.

Disappointing

I was hoping for a room overlooking the lake but apparently as I had booked through Booking.com this was not an option!! However I also requested a quiet room which the rooms at the back are. However I had a room on the top floor & there was some machinery in the attic which made a noise during the night. Had to put my earplugs in. I had a balcony but didn' sit out there to look at the shanty town & garbage below!! Breakfast was disappointing too. Interesting decor! Very Vietnamese! Lots of mirrors & large murals. Only stayed two nights which was long enough to explore West Lake in a day. Hired a free bicycle from the hotel. Never thought I would cycle in Hanoi. Found an amazing flower park. Well worth a visit. Staff helpful.
