Great inexpensive boutique hotel.

I was a little worried after I booked this hotel when i read some reviews but after checking in all those worries left me. We were welcomed by a very friendly young lady and friendly doorman. Hotel lobby is beautiful and room is very modern and clean. Appreciated the small cake and decorated bed for celebrating our wedding anniversary. Room has a smart tv so you can watch youtube and netflix. We had a larger room as we booked a Premier double room with view. I think our neighbour may have had a smaller room, something to keep in mind. Breakfast was yummy with lots of options, you can also have pho and eggs made to order. Upstairs bar and swimming pool is quite nice but on the small size. Pool temperature is quite cold. Nice to go up there for the view. We found all staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially the lady that greeted us on the first night (I wish I could remember her name). She gave us a good recommendation for dinner on our first night and showed us where on google maps. Manevi is situated on quieter street and just a short walk to streets with a lot of action. You can easily walk to the beer street from the hotel, which is like a street on steroids.
Only thing I would suggest to the hotel is there needs to more clear signage of emergency exits etc on each floor, something I noticed they lacked.
I would certainly consider staying here again of I was visiting Hanoi again.

Disappointing experience

Minimal space and too many service failures
Property that absolutely does not meet expectations. The service failures starting with the pool, or rather a tub on the roof, closed and visibly not clean. The poor hygiene was also noticeable in the breakfast area, an environment that did not excel in cleanliness unlike the rooms, which fortunately were clean.
The rooms are truly tiny; we had a superior with a window, and once we entered with just two carry-ons, there was almost no room to move. The layout is definitely inconvenient and the sink is positioned directly inside the room near the kettle, outside the bathroom.
The customer management was the worst part. One evening, upon returning, I asked for water at the reception; I was told in a curt manner that I had to go buy it outside the hotel, but there is a bar on the ground floor and I would have paid for it. After having gone out specifically to buy it, upon my return they handed me the water, apologizing and saying that they had made a mistake checking my account from my arrival.
To top it all off, at check-out they wanted to meticulously inspect the room before letting us leave—the first time this has happened to me—and they challenged me on the missing laundry bag; I had put it in my suitcase, unaware that it wasn't a free gadget, and I was made to pay for it on the spot. A truly embarrassing situation and annoying rigidity.

Hotel is located in the old French quarter, prefect location to local shops and restaurants. Walking within the area is safe, we never had an issues. The staff is great, very helpful, they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.

Tv had English Channels which is a plus!
Breakfast nice and very varied
Bathroom has a really cool window which fogs (we were amazed)
In the middle of the hustle and bustle of old quarter
An amazing escape from the chaotic streets, we couldn't hear any beeping or any outside noise which was amazing!
Swimming pool was too dirty to get in, originally was why we booked it and therefore initially a shame. Very new hotel so bar is empty. HOWEVER still so thankful for our stay here and would definitely recommend just be aware the swimming pool is dirty
